- BBBAJun 21, 20263.0**Update...I was contacted today by the hotel GM Peter. An extreme gentleman that apologized and was surprised at the way the room was left. He's going to use this info to improve all sectors of the hotel, to make sure it doesn't happen again. I appreciated the contact and will give them another try when passing through Utica. What a disappointment! I booked a room the day prior and drove several hours to get there. After check in I entered my room, ready to rest and relax, only to find a damaged ceiling over one of the beds. It was stained with some brownish colored stuff and then spray painted over top of it. It looked like mold or even blood stain? I called the front desk immediately and asked to be moved. The very unhelpful guy at the front desk, named Max, said they're completely booked and he can't help me but, can give me a refund. I have to go through an hour of trying to get a refund, so I can book another hotel, after traveling all day and completely exhausted. I can't believe they tried to rent a room in this condition. Suffice it to say, I'll never be staying at this hotel again and it also puts a black eye on Holiday Inn hotels for me. 13 yrs an IHG member and this is the treatment for members 👎
