This was an excellent place to visit! The entry fee seemed high when we drove up but we were very wrong. The price includes a variety of excellent educational tours and demonstrations conducted by professionals that are really passionate students of the Fort's history! They present the information with genuine enthusiasm and sincerity. The schedule is well done so you can easily take advantage of the group tours, see the demos and have time to explore on your own. The admission fee also includes a trip up Mt Defiance which was a view not to be missed! It was a memorable trip!

America's Fort! This is one of the most important sites in the United States and arguably North America. Fort Ticonderoga literally saved the American Revolution. Incredible history, vividly brought to life by authentic re-enactors. Grew up coming here and it has grown tremendously with so many different new aspects - the re-enactors, the King's Garden, the corn maze, the cafe/restaurant, and the exceptional gift shop. Great for all ages as our young son loved the cannon and musket demonstrations as well as the historic woodworkers, artisans, etc. Special events and exhibits to celebrate America 250. Can easily spend a full day here whether you are local or an out-of-towner.

I would like to thank the kind ladies at the forts cafeteria who assisted me a few weeks ago. My wife and daughter and my pet grayhound Manny broke down on a late Friday afternoon on the parking lot of the Tyconderoga boat launch. We could not get a tow truck until the following afternoon. I walked over to the fort cafeteria for food and water as we had nothing to eat or drink for almost 24 hours. The ladies charged my dead phone, worked on getting me a tow truck and the clerk dtove me back to my car and family with the delicious food from the cafeteria. Just in time as the tow truck driver just loaded my car. Thank you Fort Tyconderoga staff for caring about me and coming to my rescue.

My family and I were on vacation in the ADK and made the trip over to Fort Ticonderoga twice, as well as the overlook. Having each ticket be good for two days was a pleasant surprise to me. And it also included a token for the scenic overlook. This way you don't feel rushed, and if some reason you have to cut one day short, you don't feel you wasted your money. The Fort had lots for children to interact with and to watch. The interaction with staff was professional and informative. The displays were fascinating. As far as historic sites go, they do a great job with reenactments and explaining what you see. The Kings Garden was beautiful and certainly worth the short walk from the Fort. They were also building a boat using original tools and resources, which was fun to watch. Everyone was helpful and informative. I'd recommend showing up when they first open to not feel rushed and witness the flag raising.

I cant recommend this place enough,If you like history, breath taking scenery, historical reenactment, and walking then you need to take a drive to the area. This is the place where you will spend all day touring and walking and seeing the natural beauty around the area. The fort is only one part of a much larger grounds, a large flower and garden center, a boat lake tour, an historic marine building warehouse, an large overlook of the region ( mt defiance), historic museum of the fort and area and history of naval ships named after the fort and much more. Also you will be taken through a first hand tour of history by the employees who literally create almost all things necessary at the fort like it was back in time when it was in full operation. The caretakers provide guided Informational tours, historical demonstrations of how to cook food, how to create clothing, military reenactments ( muskets, cannons, marching/bands). I cannot speak more highly of how professional and kind and knowledgeable the employees are their they really know their stuff and you can see their passion in how they present everything about the history of the fort and area. Plenty of walking trails all around the entire extended fort area. Even got a large gift shop a little pricey but if you want a little momento you will definitely find something. Would recommend getting there a little early because you might want to explore everything.Great for all you wont regret it.
