This is a tough review to write. Despite being one of the best & also most populated places to visit in the Adirondacks, Saranac Lake is a super rural town. The staff was very polite & they tried. But lots of stuff was less than ideal on this stay: they had problems with the pool, which unexpectedly closed twice while we were there. The bottom of spa could use a thorough clean. Hotel cut off all water randomly one afternoon at 4:30 and didn’t warn anyone! Was off an hour. The bed area smelled like a dog no matter what I did to clean the counter, lamps etc (this is a pet friendly hotel but I’m not a dog person). Finally, somehow our credit card was skimmed on this trip. Their WiFi had a weird way of connecting and I did need to make a purchase while on it. That is not this specific staffs fault & this is more of a heads up to VOCO to get more secure internet. It was all still passable. Better than glamping.

I hate to give this place a bad review because it was a nice hotel with nice rooms, restaurant staff, and location, but the whole billing issue is screwing us. We paid our stay with points and the hotel keeps saying they 'refunded us' but yet there is NO sign anywhere of a refund on our card or account. What is the point of being loyal to the brand and able to pay with points if you are going to just scam us out of using our points anyway?? We have stayed at MANY hotels and we have never ever had an issue like this. It has been months and still no one can help us. Doesn't help that they didn't send us a full receipt of each night that we paid with point so that we could send it to get the charge off our card in a dispute, but unfortunately Chase won't work with us on this. We have proof we paid with points and we have proof that we also paid in cash too (WHEN WE WEREN'T SUPPOSED TO!). We paid for this hotel twice, hotel got double the money I am sure and decided to pocket that. If you want to pay with points, avoid this place, it has been a disaster. We stayed March 23-31 and still haven't received our funds back. At the very least you could give us our points back!!!

Terrific waterfront hotel located near the center of Saranac Lake. Downtown is a short walk or car ride away, but the tradeoff is it is situated on a lake with gorgeous views (especially if you get a top floor room). Rooms are clean and comfortable, though the shower was a little tight for me. Good sized fitness center with different machines, and a fairly spacious indoor pool. My only complaint was that the outdoor area firepits were not functioning at the time of my visit, but very minor and it gave me an excuse to enjoy the view from my room!

We had a wonderful time staying at this hotel on Flower Lake. It was our first prolonged visit to the ADK area, and we discovered lots of activities around to engage with a toddler, so location is superb (close to ADK rail trail, close to the beach at lake Colby, 15 min drive to the Lake placid village, half an hour go to the Wild center and also doable drive to the mt Whiteface)! The hotel staff was very helpful (special thanks to Mathew for adjusting our room service time to the baby's nap hours). I gave 4 stars for a couple of issues mostly - 1 is that the large window's blinds were stuck, and when I tried to pull they fell off. The staff though fixed it next morning. The other thing is that the table lamp in the front room wasn't working (might be overall socket's problem). The restaurant was good (we had 3 breakfasts there), but might be a bit more versatile as we stayed for 4 nights. Overall, the room was great (large bedroom, comfortable front room and a very spacious washroom + bath+shower), the staff was welcoming and helpful and we enjoyed our time there! Special thanks for the spectacular firework show on July 4th:)

Love this place as a well kept secret for a mid day drink spot, we have never stayed there, but I bet the rooms are nice and the outdoor experience seems to thrive there however, we have have only stopped there 2 years in a row for a midday cocktail and both times we have had a great experience. Johnny tends bar after 11ish, and is a joy to deal with. The atmosphere is airy and light and I challenge you to have 2 drinks and not belly laugh at all life offers. Go! Bring a thirst for both life and laughter! ( and maybe some booze?)
