We had a wonderful stay at The Rockaway Hotel! The property is beautiful, modern, and has such a relaxing beachside atmosphere. The rooms were spotless, comfortable, and thoughtfully designed, making it easy to unwind.
The staff was welcoming, friendly, and always happy to help, which made the experience even more enjoyable. We especially loved the pool, the rooftop views, and how close the hotel is to the beach. Everything felt well-maintained, and the overall vibe was the perfect mix of luxury and laid-back coastal charm.
If you're looking for a relaxing getaway without leaving New York City, The Rockaway Hotel is an excellent choice. We can't wait to come back!

I’ll share my positives dnd negatives and really it depends great you are looking for
Positives: Beautiful clean, boutique hotel in a great location. Rooms were bright and very large either all sorts of personalized touches such as art and books and a leather woven entry bench. Food at all onsite restaurants excellent.
Negatives: This is in contrast to the crowd that the hotel is clearly catering to and the atmosphere they are trying to create. You can forget the serene photos and description on the website. On Saturday the entire pool and bar area were like a Vegas casino pool. I checked with multiple staff members, and this was not an exception. This is the scene every single summer Saturday. Techno music cranking from ten speakers surrounding the pool at a decibel level so loud you could have heard it blocks away at the beach. Went this loud til well after 10pm. Pool was mobbed. Lots of sunburns and silicone. So if you’re looking for wild and crazy party, you found it. If you’re looking for any measure of serene getaway, this is not the place for you.

I have NEVER slept on a "foreign" bed & woken up without being stiff & sore! I am happy to report that there are no down pillows or comforters-which is great for those who are allergic & more humane! The staff were top-notch! We went for a wedding (5/29-5/31) & Niecey was kind enough to show me what I can eat that was gluten-free & vegetarian at the rehearsal dinner/cocktail party the night before. I was served a delicious glute-free pasta with a nice, chunky marinara & cauliflower steak. I'm not really into cauliflower, but this was so good, I was happy to have it at the wedding too! Tara was serving our table at the wedding & she was equally as fantastic! My only thing is I wish there was a gluten-free option for dessert. I'm not expecting cookies or cake, but fruit can be quite a pleaser (great for vegans & diabetics (berries, especially) too). Overall, nice atmosphere, clean rooms, wonderful employees...probably the best experience I have had at a hotel! Give Niecey & Tara a raise!

Unfortunately made the mistake of staying here a second time hoping for a better experience. Seriously lacking hospitality - the hotel policy around usage of the pool is 12pm check in day - 12pm check out day. Understood. While several pool chairs were empty on check out day, we were escorted from our chairs at noon and asked to order our lunch inside, even though we wanted to spend money by the pool. Only to watch the chairs go unused for the remainder of the day. The rooms are small, the experience is mechanical and stressful, the drains are clogged, the water pressure is a drizzle , and overall a very poor stay both times.
** In regards to the response below. There were no other arriving guests using the pool loungers, they remained empty through the time we departed the hotel. No pool vouchers were offered, so I'm not sure why that was communicated in your response.

Had a very expensive for meh experience here--first disappointment was the ocean view room which was tiny, barely enough room for us and our suitcases--NO CLOSET or place other than the floor to open suitcase, no place to hang anything. Charged $50.58 "amenities fee" which was not clear to us upon booking and we used no amenities. Room key deactivated TWICE on check-out day which was stressful and time consuming especially since they were not flexible about a later check-out (they did say that we could checkout at 11:30 rather than 11). There were very few plant-based options at Margies restaurant so we went elsewhere--asked the hostess what time they opened for breakfast for hotel guests--she had no idea and said we "can come look at the door to see if it's closed and there's a sign. Breakfast might be served by pool." But she really had no idea. Bar is a highlight, fun, good bartenders. But definitely not worth the price to stay here.
