  My husband and I got married at The Rockaway Hotel on April 24,2026, and we cannot be more sure that we picked the right venue. Communications with the events team was seamless and all our questions were handled expeditiously. Growing up in Rockaway, it was so special to come back and get married here. We appreciated all their recommendations and specifically the florist, Shannon Florist! The food was delicious and though I had most of outside vendors (as we had an elaborate Mexican and Colombian wedding), communication with them was easygoing and just a breeze. We will always remember our beautiful day there and will keep them in mind always! Thank you Rockaway Hotel and Thomas for making the weekend a hit!

  This hotel charges around $600 including an amenity fee for a room without closet space. I asked for 2 luggage stands so we don’t need to place luggages on the floor but they provided only one. It was very frustrated asking for a late checkout. They first said they could not grant it until the morning, then it is okay, I then got a text for a $75 fee to check out late, then I was asked to prove my Hyatt status (where I booked the hotel) for a free late checkout. After I provided the proof, they went back to say it depends on the availability in the next morning. They obviously do not value customer services.

  This hotel is located just two blocks from the beach, two blocks from the ferry and a hop skip and a jump from major roadways and Kennedy Airport. The hotel has great ocean and bay views, with a really nice rooftop restaurant/bar and another restaurant on the lobby floor with another lively bar. The food at both are delicious. The rooms are really nice and the hotel has rooms called bungalows, which are apartment size, with full kitchens, a living room, two bedrooms and two bathrooms. There is an outdoor pool area that has another restaurant and bar. Live music is played by the pool area and another separate rooftop area hosts intimate size summer concerts on weekends. All and all this hotel does a great job for a it's guests.

  Do not book this hotel for any occasion that matters. We stayed here as a group of 9 for a significant family event. The night before, the hotel hosted a loud concert directly below our floor that continued until 10:00 PM — with zero advance notice to guests. Our entire group was unable to sleep before that time. When concerns were raised with staff, we were promised a manager would follow up. No one ever did. What makes this particularly unacceptable is that one member of our group has a noise sensitivity that makes sleep disruption genuinely consequential — not an inconvenience. The hotel made no effort to accommodate and offered no apology. This property charges premium rates — rates that are difficult to justify given the level of care provided. The pricing reflects a lack of competition in the area, not a standard of service that earns it. If you are booking for a family gathering, a special occasion, or a group that includes anyone with sensory sensitivities, look elsewhere. The hotel is quick to take your money and slow to take responsibility.

  I love Rockaway Boutique Hotel! I want to address a couple cons first, but still give it five stars. Two cons: 1)Room with two comfortable queens is spacious (great bay view), there are areas that are tired, bathroom not painted well, flaking off the walls, broken toilet paper roll, stains on the wood tables, no closet (but there are two hooks and two hangers). 2) The roof top food was not good. I believe ya’ll can do a better job with the spicy tuna crispy rice and tuna poke bowl-sorry, but they were sad. My friend didn’t like her dish (did not make a stink about it) and the server unexpectedly removed it from our bill, which was very nice and I’ve never seen this done at any restaurant. Lastly, the valet is slow, but I believe it’s because the cars are parked at the lot a few minutes away. That being said, I can’t believe it’s taken me this long to jump on the ferry to come here. My best friend and I did a staycation and loved it! There is a fitness studio across the street with classes for all levels. Complimentary classes at Orange Theory. Both were big bonus! We found all the hotel employees we engaged with to be great, very nice and extremely efficient, and quick service. Attentive front desk (loved Matthew who remembered from the day before what our activity is the next day). The pool area has plenty of lounge chairs. Pool service is always available and they are quick to bring your order - delicious drinks! We saw a few kids mid week, but definitely got busier with more on Friday. Otherwise, a great chill relaxing atmosphere during the week. We are already planning to come back!
