  We were really looking forward to our stay at The Abbey. It looked like the best option in Peekskill to stay. When we arrived, the two women behind the counter were not overly friendly in greeting us and when we asked for a room not in the first floor since we had a bad experience on a first floor room- the one woman said maybe and the other immediately said “no we are completed booked”. We get to the room which is in front of the Valet stand and the door is paper thin so you can hear all of the people all night going into and out of the elevators across the hall. In the morning there is complimentary coffee/tea but it is a fancy Keurig you need to make it with and when we asked for assistance on how to use the machine the gentleman at the front desk said- I can’t leave the desk you need to figure it out or you can buy coffee at the restaurant, which we did for $6- meanwhile the desk is across from the coffee service. The grounds are pretty but it is not a nice area and there really is nothing to do so the customer service should be better for the price and the type of place they are trying to make it into.

  Exceptional visit and stay in all aspects! Staff friendliness, knowledge, and support was truly outstanding. For our traveling party, this experience will be hard to beat, or even match, ever!

  If you haven't been to The Abbey's restaurant, Apropos, yet, I recommend you jump in the car and go! What a great meal! I've been for both lunch and dinner (twice) and the food is excellent. Perfectly seasoned and delicious! Portion size is just right! Donnan, who manages the bar and cocktails, is such a wonderful host and Corin, is a great hostess! And, by the way, the bread comes to the table warm!!! I was also treated to the Mother's Day brunch with my son and everything was incredible! I wish they would do a brunch offering like that at least once a month! Go, eat, drink and enjoy! Try the Zouzou cocktail! Yum!

  My wife and I have loved coming here for brunch and the views. Recently I photographed a proposal with these gorgeous view. It was absolutely stunning. The couple planned a weekend away and couldn’t stop raving about their hotel room and dinner the night before. The grounds were amazing and provided so many photo opportunities. This is truly a hidden gem in Peekskill/the Hudson Valley and a unique place to get engaged or married!
