- AHAmy HamelinJun 24, 20264.0We choose the the hotel because it is conveniently located within a 20 minute drive of West Point, on the other side of the river. On the map, it looked like a nice location, close to the Hudson River. We were able to see a small slice of the Hudson from our room. What we didn't realize is that it is right across the street from a waste management plant that starts operating at 6am. Even though we had our white noise machine on, I was awakened by something that sounded like a truck being powerwashed or an airplane moments before taxiing. The hotel is pricey for a Holiday Inn, and I didn't feel that it was good value for the money. On a positive note, the room was really big with a seating area and plenty of space for our family of three to spread out. The room was clean, the beds comfortable, and there is a fridge (with a small freezer section) and a microwave. The breakfast buffet is decent, with some variety. Staff were polite and helpful.
