  We choose the the hotel because it is conveniently located within a 20 minute drive of West Point, on the other side of the river. On the map, it looked like a nice location, close to the Hudson River. We were able to see a small slice of the Hudson from our room. What we didn't realize is that it is right across the street from a waste management plant that starts operating at 6am. Even though we had our white noise machine on, I was awakened by something that sounded like a truck being powerwashed or an airplane moments before taxiing. The hotel is pricey for a Holiday Inn, and I didn't feel that it was good value for the money. On a positive note, the room was really big with a seating area and plenty of space for our family of three to spread out. The room was clean, the beds comfortable, and there is a fridge (with a small freezer section) and a microwave. The breakfast buffet is decent, with some variety. Staff were polite and helpful.

  The location is great, very beautiful area! Very small TV, the heat/AC is on a motion sensor and will shutoff while you sleep so you wake up either cold or hot, depending on the season. The worst part is the bed, I swear it was made out of stone! Worst bed I have ever slept on by far. Don’t check out early, they will charge you for an extra day, it’s “policy”

  I decided to stay overnight at this Holiday Inn after a performance at the Paramount. These days I'm at an age that driving at night is more challenging, and staying at middling hotels aren't good for my back. In this area, there aren't many reasonably priced hotels in the area that have good reviews so I decided to stay here. Although much more costly than I would expect for a Holiday Inn, it was worth it in the end due to the warm, friendly and efficient welcome, pristine room, and a great location. It's only 6 min from the theatre and route 9 is a couple of minutes away. The breakfast really surprised me with hot food that was well-cooked. In fact, it was a better breakfast than I would make myself. Last weekend, I stayed at a higher end hotel and this Holiday Inn was much cleaner and nicer. Also, it's within walking distance of a river walk park.

  Great experience. We spent 5 nights. The staff was always friendly and helpful. The hotel was clean. There is a 24 hour coffee/hot chocolate station. Breakfast had many options. I am not a big breakfast eater, but I liked the yogurt and fruit options. My son loved the pancake maker. The rooms were clean. My only complaint was that the beds squeaked when you sat or rolled around on them. There is a great water front walk across the street. We didn't use the Peekskill train station (used Cortland instead due to train times), you can walk to the Peekskill station. I found it to be very much what one would expect at a Holiday Inn Express.
