Maybe my experience was unique but the hotel had construction in an adjacent room that hammered, buzz sawed, and worked on metal piping from 8 am until 930 pm. I asked the front desk to rectify it 3 times before asking if another room was available.
I appreciate how great the front desk manager was - I'm sure he did call the construction guys to ask them to stop but really that shouldn't happen at all. I get that construction needs to happen but it doesn't need to happen through late in the evening.
The manager was great and said he'd comp my breakfast the next day. A nice gesture. But then the staff failed to actually do that. Again, no one did anything malicious and the staff do try but the staff are about as competent as a 2 or 3 star hotel and not a hotel with this name. Their training department could improve.

A Grand Dame in Desperate Need of a Medic
If you are looking for a classic Midtown experience, you might be tempted by the Warwick’s storied history and central location. However, be warned: the "Old Hollywood" glamour has faded into a frustrating, high-priced exercise in patience.
For the premium price point, you can find significantly better accommodations in the immediate area. Here is a breakdown of why this stay missed the mark.
The Room Experience: Small & Stalling
Cramped Quarters: The rooms are remarkably small, even by Manhattan standards. Navigating the space feels less like a luxury stay and more like a puzzle.
The Elevator Bottleneck: The elevators are tiny and slow. Expect to spend a significant portion of your morning waiting in the hallway just to get to the lobby.
Maintenance Woes:The infrastructure is struggling. In our case, the lighting was non-functional upon arrival—we literally had to wait for an electrician just to turn the lights on.
Service & Housekeeping Failures
While maintenance issues are an inconvenience, the housekeeping service was genuinely problematic.
Critical Note:The cleaning staff accidentally swept our prescription medications into the trash. This wasn’t just a lapse in tidiness; it was a major safety issue that forced us to coordinate an emergency replacement set at a nearby Walgreens.
Final Verdict
The Warwick is way past its prime. While the architecture hints at its former glory, the reality of the guest experience is defined by maintenance hurdles and subpar service.
Bottom Line:There are dozens of hotels within a five-block radius that offer larger rooms, modern amenities, and more attentive staff for the same—or lower—price. Keep walking.

Location of hotel is great in midtown if you're going to a broadway show or shopping 5th Avenue. The hotel is another story. The room I was in had a bed so stiff I could barely sleep, it needs to be remodeled. I could hear people in the rooms next door and down the hall at all hours. A service/room changing cart was left outside my room 24/7 which doesn't provide a very elevated hotel experience. I was also charged facility fees by the hotel and the website I used to book hotel (Agoda). The hotel front desk staff told me to request refund from Agoda, while Agoda told me I had to provide copy of hotel invoice showing facility fee charged to my credit card which upon calling hotel front desk after my departure (I had requested copy of invoice at checkout only to get home and see that it wasn't final invoice with proof of payment on it), desk receptionist told me I had to request from hotel's accounts receivable department. I've never had to chase down an invoice from a hotel's AR dept, it's like they have making it difficult on purpose.
I will say the front desk staff that checked me in were lovely and helpful minus telling me they would charge me facility fee even though I already paid it to Agoda (they told me I had to take it up with Agoda). They also charge $2/item (cash only) for holding your luggage in storage which is just another way to nickel and dime guests for a 3-4 star hotel. I enjoyed my interactions with the friendly doorman.
There are better places to stay in Midtown for the price. Only stay here if you care about their hey day charm they show with photographs on the walls.
