I went to Madame Tussauds on Tuesday. It was actually a nice time, but the guy at the door was very disrespectful. And when we went in, the employee, Taylar, wasn't interested in us at all. No greeting, we waited there, and she didn't come to help us, she just stood there. When we asked if she could help us, she was unfriendly and seemed annoyed.
Everyone else was really nice! It's a shame I still have to give a bad rating overall.

I really enjoyed visiting Madame Tussauds. What made it special for me was seeing so many artists and celebrities that were part of my younger years.
Seeing Frank Sinatra and Elvis Presley brought back memories from when I was young, and then seeing Michael Jackson, Elton John, Freddie Mercury and other artists from the 70s and 80s reminded me of my teenage years and my 20s.
The wax figures are incredibly realistic, and it was fun being able to get close and take pictures with them. For me, it was more than just a tourist attraction. It felt like taking a little trip back through the music and entertainment of my generation.
Definitely a fun place to visit, especially if you grew up with the artists from that era.

Unfortunately, my visit to Madame Tussauds was quite disappointing because of my experience with Meli at the café. He was extremely unfriendly, impatient, and seemed annoyed throughout the interaction. I did not feel welcomed or treated with basic respect as a customer.
I understand that working in a busy café can be stressful, but that should not be an excuse for treating customers this way. I hope management takes this feedback seriously, as this experience unfortunately affected my overall visit.
The exhibition itself, the incredible attention to detail, and the overall experience definitely deserve more stars.

It contains wax figurines as promised.
In that respect, Madame Tussauds New York delivers exactly what it says on the tin. There are celebrities. They are made of wax. They stand very still. Nobody breaks character.
As an older person, I was pleased to recognize a respectable percentage of the exhibits. There were also several younger celebrities whom I confidently pretended to know so I wouldn’t embarrass my children. I even know who Dua Lipa is, which I believe qualifies me for some sort of cultural competency certificate. I cannot name one of her songs without assistance, but progress is progress.
The figures range from impressively realistic to “this person appears to have recently been reconstructed from witness testimony.” Some are uncanny enough that you briefly expect them to move, while others make you wonder whether the sculptor had actually met the celebrity or was working from a description shouted over the phone.
There are plenty of opportunities to pose with famous people who would normally have security remove you from the premises. I took full advantage. Where else can you casually stand next to a movie star, politician, athlete, or musician while maintaining complete confidence that they will not judge your outfit?
The whole experience is wonderfully strange when you think about it. Humanity has spent thousands of years developing art, science, architecture, and civilization, and eventually decided, “You know what we really need? A life-sized wax Dua Lipa.”
And apparently we did.
It’s touristy, silly, occasionally creepy, and considerably more entertaining than I expected. If you enjoy celebrities, elaborate photo opportunities, or simply want to spend an afternoon staring into the lifeless eyes of famous people, Madame Tussauds is worth a visit.
Four stars. One deducted because none of the wax figures seemed particularly impressed that I knew who Dua Lipa was.

A fun experience once you get used to the wax figures. I really enjoyed the horror section that I did not expect. I am not sure what I expected because there was a fun surprise around nearly every corner.
There could be better signage and guidance at the entrance. We were snapped at several times because we didn’t know where to go at the entrance. We kept trying to go to bag check and were yelled at to go down the other area and skip the bag check. I saw the signs for GA but the bag check was its own thing and very confusing. However, after that experience every single employee was wonderful.
