Great hotel between central Park and times square. Same corner as the ACE subway. Very comfortable beds. Friendly staff but it took a while for a bell hop to become available store our luggage due to high demand. The rooftop bar has excellent food. Can get better bagels elsewhere but they are good. I had both breakfast and dinner and recommend both. They have a free wine tasting which I unfortunately missed. We were too busy to enjoy any of the other amenities so unable to provide a review on those. I would stay here again.

I have stayed at this hotel before and had consistently positive experiences, which is why my most recent visit was particularly disappointing. During my latest stay, I was treated in a way that I found deeply disrespectful and completely unacceptable for a hotel of this standard. The woman at the front desk was wearing glasses and was not wearing a name badge, so unfortunately I do not know her name. I politely asked her to speak with my husband, as I felt more comfortable having him assist with the conversation. Her attitude changed noticeably only after I involved my husband. What was even more disturbing happened later, when she was speaking with another employee. Within my hearing, she referred to my husband as “her husband or boyfriend, whoever he is.” This was an entirely unnecessary, inappropriate, and disrespectful remark. A guest’s personal relationships are not something a front-desk employee should be commenting on, especially in such a dismissive manner. Ironically, this was not the first time we had experienced an issue with this particular employee. During our previous visits, she did not proactively mention certain benefits and amenities that we were entitled to as hotel guests. We only learned about them when we specifically asked or reminded her about them ourselves. At the time, we gave her the benefit of the doubt. We assumed perhaps it had simply been a busy or difficult day, and we did not think much of it. Looking back, however, the pattern is difficult to ignore. I was polite throughout the interaction, and unfortunately, it felt as though my politeness was mistaken for weakness. Being polite should never be interpreted as an invitation to speak to a guest disrespectfully. I expect a basic level of professionalism, courtesy, and respect from hotel staff. Whatever personal attitude an employee may have, it should remain separate from their interactions with guests. What makes this particularly disappointing is that I had previously had very positive experiences at this hotel. Unfortunately, this interaction completely overshadowed those experiences and significantly changed my impression of the hotel. I hope management takes this feedback seriously and looks into this employee’s interactions with guests. No guest should leave a hotel feeling disrespected or feel that they need to insist on receiving the benefits and information they are entitled to as a guest.

Fantastic stay! First time staying at this hotel (or any Kimpton for that matter) The customer service was great, and we had one minor issue with the sink when we checked in that was IMMEDIATELY handled by one of the staff there. I can tell the staff there really takes pride in delivering customer service. The rooftop restaurant was also great atmosphere and even better food. Special shout out to Jules at the transportation desk. Although we already had our own transportation scheduled, he was very kind and informative to myself and the folks that traveled with me. The only issue I had was I wish there were few more outlets in the room to charge/use devices, and the "essentials" room seems like it has a bit of empty space in the corner near the window. It seens like there should be some kind of chair or end table there... something like that Regardless, I plan on staying there again, and would recommend it to anyone who is on the fence!

I’ve stayed at Kimpton Hotel Theta many times over the past five-plus years, and unfortunately, the service seems to be getting noticeably worse with each visit. The hotel itself is good—the rooms are good, and the location is excellent—but the level of service simply doesn’t match what you’d expect from a hotel charging around $400 a night. On my latest visit, it took about 25 minutes just to figure out where to get a laundry/dry-cleaning bag because there wasn’t one in the room, and apparently they couldn’t find one downstairs either. What should have been an incredibly simple request turned into a whole process. The staff member helping me—I’m not sure if she was a manager or what her role was—literally disappeared for about 10 minutes looking for a bag, and the interaction itself was a bit rude. I then went upstairs to the restaurant and waited about 10 minutes while the bartender talked to someone else before I could get his attention. When I finally asked for utensils, I was handed plastic ones because apparently they don’t provide real utensils. I guess that’s what $400 a night gets you. Again, the location is great and the rooms are perfectly good, but the service is simply not there. I do want to give a big shout-out to Nouea at the front desk. He was terrific—funny, friendly, and genuinely provided wonderful customer service. Unfortunately, he was very much the exception during this stay.

Good value had a decent sized room with miniscule bathroom in Times Square. It is hectic so be aware. Also next to a weed shop. 15th floor room had pervasive smell of fried food due to cafe on rooftop. It was gross, I didn't change since we were only staying for 2 nights. Staff were not knowledgeable at front desk (I asked about an upgrade bid they said they didn't do that at the hotel) and were very clinical despite my being platinum elite staus. After checking out, was looking to access water filler but was unable to go up to 2nd floor except with security (had to check with them if ok) and the team was blase about it. The older latino gentleman at the baggage check desk was really kind though with helping with bags and offering to help with water refill.
