  As regular guests of this hotel, we have always enjoyed staying here, but our recent visit was marred by unacceptable front desk service from an employee named Jennifer during a room change. When we called to request a room switch due to noise, Jennifer repeatedly evaded our simple question about whether a replacement room was guaranteed. When we brought our luggage down, she greeted us with a cold, unbothered expression. After telling us to set our bags on the shelf in the luggage room, she immediately demanded that I pick the bag back up and carry it across the room to where she was standing by the entrance so she could tag it—simply so she wouldn't have to step away from holding the door open. When I pointed out my heavy backpack also needed a tag, she ignored me and just repeated her demand. She easily could have tagged the bags once they were set on the shelf, which is how it has always been done here, rather than forcing us to drag heavy luggage back over to her. Her contradicting instructions were confusing, and she treated basic hospitality tasks as a major inconvenience. Her attitude throughout was cold, dismissive, and entirely unprofessional. While the rest of the hotel staff and our eventual quiet room were great, Jennifer's unhelpful attitude stood out as a sharp exception to the quality service we usually experience as regulars. Management needs to address her basic customer service standards.

  I would like to express my sincere appreciation for the excellent service provided by two members of your reception team during our stay. Jennifer was extremely helpful in arranging our taxi transportation to JFK Airport. Her professionalism, kindness, and attention to our travel needs made the departure arrangements easy and stress-free. I would also like to recognize Glaydes, who made our check-out process exceptionally smooth and pleasant. She kindly coordinated with the doorman to assist us with loading our luggage, making our departure comfortable and well organized. Both Jennifer and Glaydes demonstrated genuine hospitality, professionalism, and care for their guests. Their excellent service left a very positive final impression of our stay at Henn na Hotel New York.   I’ve stayed at this hotel 5 times already and I honestly can’t recommend it enough. I travel to New York several times a year and I can’t imagine staying anywhere else now. The location is perfect-right in the heart of Manhattan, with everything you need within walking distance (and Best Bagels right next to the hotel :P). The rooms are spacious, always spotless and the housekeeping team is incredibly professional. Every member of the staff is kind, welcoming and always willing to help. During one of my stays, I had an issue with my card payment. Because of a banking problem, it took quite a while to resolve but the hotel’s General Manager (Neil) was exceptionally helpful throughout the entire process. His support and communication made all the difference and thanks to him everything was successfully sorted out. This hotel consistently delivers a fantastic experience and that’s exactly why I keep coming back. I highly recommend it to anyone looking for a comfortable, clean and well-managed place to stay in New York.

  A hidden gem in Midtown Manhattan 🇯🇵🗽 The location is excellent;close to Penn Station, Times Square, Planet Fitness, Apollo Bagels and Best Bagel & Coffee. My room was spacious by New York standards, with plenty of storage, a Japanese-style toilet, clothes steamer and the ability to stream my own apps to the TV. The on-site Japanese restaurant was fantastic and genuinely took me back to Japan 🍣 The dinosaur in the lobby is also a fun and memorable touch 🦖 There was construction noise outside my original room, but the staff handled it professionally and moved me to a higher floor. Unfortunately, the second room was directly opposite the elevators, so light sleepers should request a room farther away from them. The view mainly faced office buildings, the bedroom could benefit from dimmer lighting, and complimentary bottled water would have been appreciated. The bathtub also did not look particularly inviting. Overall, a quirky, comfortable and very well-located hotel with great Japanese-inspired touches. I would happily stay again—just in a high-floor room away from the elevators.

  TL;DR - This place was an amazing little gem tucked away on 35th street! Quick travel to a bunch of great locations via walking or the trains with a staff that's on top of stuff. I totally recommend it! We were in town to see a concert at Madison Square Garden and Henn Na Hotel was only a block away. Which meant a quick trip walking over. Super easy! It was also only a couple of blocks away from B&H Photo which was a nice benefit. I've been shopping there for years and finally got to check it out in person. The Empire State Building is only a short walk in the other direction. Times Square is far enough away that the crowds have thinned out, but you can make the walk in 12ish minutes if you want. Ditto for Broadway being within walking distance. If you like shopping then the Macy's flagship store and a bunch of other shopping is only a block away at 34th and Herald Square. The hotel is located a block away from Penn Station, and from there you can get to pretty much anywhere in the city in 15-25 minutes. The Midtown location makes getting everywhere else really fast. The hotel itself was super clean. The beds were comfortable. The TVs allow you to cast whatever streaming service you want so you can watch your stories. They even have fancy Japanese toilets with all the bells and whistles if you want that authentic Randy Marsh experience. The staff also really went above and beyond. When we asked for more towels or pillows housekeeping was there within minutes with everything we'd asked for. No super long waits! We had an issue the first two days with the people in the room next to us being loud. Really loud. Like we're talking the lady's normal volume talking to people sounded like other people shouting, and they were up early in the morning every day. On day one we talked to the front desk and they asked them to quiet down. Sadly it didn't work. On day two I went down and asked if we could be moved. Jennifer at the front desk was super helpful in accommodating us, and within an hour she called up to tell us we had a new room ten floors up where even neighbor lady's loudness couldn't reach. The rest of the vacation was blissfully silent and we could sleep in after staying out late in the city that never sleeps. This place is a great location tucked away in an unassuming little stretch of 35th street in Midtown that's totally a great place to stay with very reasonable prices and excellent staff. You can't go wrong here!
