Pros: This location was ideal, as everything was close and we walked or took the subway everywhere (20 to 30 minutes max). The room was a perfect size and setup for a couple. Despite reading mixed reviews about noise, our room faced the street and was surprisingly quiet; I did not need earplugs at all (though standard NYC city noise is expected!). We did not go out at night, but during the day, we felt completely safe walking around as a couple. The breakfast was also outstanding, offering tons of options and a huge seating area. Additionally, we loved being able to drop off our bags so we could explore for the day, which was a huge help since we took a red eye flight, and doing the same on checkout day allowed us to maximize our time.
Cons: Management really needs to address front desk customer service. The front desk staff are the very first people you interact with in person and the main team you engage with throughout your stay, so they set the entire tone for the trip. Unfortunately, the hostess with braids was mean, condescending, and visibly annoyed with us the entire time, to the point that I felt nervous even asking her simple questions. When we first arrived to drop off our bags, she sounded annoyed that she had to help us. When we returned later to check in, she was super happy and cheerful with the group in front of us, but when it was our turn, her attitude flipped. She abruptly said, "I'm off," and walked away without handing us off or saying a word to the employee clocking in. We were left standing there until the other worker finally asked if we needed something. Later, when she brought out another group's luggage, she snapped at us for not speaking up that we needed our luggage too. even though she had just claimed she was off. The next morning, we called ahead to ask if we could drop off our luggage early because we were told bag storage was subject to availability. They confirmed we could leave our bags and still return to rest before 11:00 AM checkout. However, when we came back to our room at 9:30 AM, the same hostess confronted us and asked in a rude tone, "where you going." She claimed she had already checked us out, assuming we were finished without clarifying or taking our keycards. Luckily, the manager, Venus, was there to resolve the mixup professionally and let us back into our room. Venus was extremely helpful, but that hostess's off putting attitude truly ruined what should have been a seamless stay.

Stayed here for work. Staff was very nice and friendly during all of my interactions. There's coffee in the lobby but I did not partake. Super close to chinatown and little italy, as well as canal street subway (about 7-10 mins away). I will say the area is very much like downtown in a big city. Homeless walking around at all times, construction, closed sidewalks, etc. But, you should expect those things coming to new york city. With that also comes a small room, small bathroom, and no closet, just hangers on a rack on the wall, which is fine with me. I was very happy with my stay.
