If you're squeamish about some of the characters you might see on the street around this location then this is not the place for you, but if you didn't mind - the rooms look modern and have everything you need, the location is great for talking the subway almost anywhere, and the price is reasonable compared to other locations. Some things to know though: no laundry service, the spa on top is not for relaxing but for treatments, and the mattresses can be a bit hard.

Imagine this: you’re on tour, you’ve spent hours on the road, you arrive at your hotel exhausted, and all you want is a few hours to rest, shower, get your hair and makeup done, and prepare for your show.
I checked into this hotel only to discover that the air conditioning in my room was not working. I immediately reported it and was told it would be fixed. Hours later, after multiple follow-ups, I was finally informed that the hotel had only learned about the issue that day and that it would not be repaired until the following week.
I asked what alternatives were available. The answer? None. No replacement room, NO REEMBORSAMANT, no solution.
What made matters even worse was that the windows in the room did not open. I was willing to sleep with the windows open and a fan if necessary, but that wasn’t even possible. The hotel expected me to spend the night in a room with no air conditioning and no ventilation whatsoever.
I understand that technical failures happen. What I do not understand is how a hotel can knowingly rent a room that is not fit for occupancy and then offer no meaningful solution to the guest. To make matters worse, there was initially no willingness to provide a refund. My team had to step in and push for one.
Less than an hour before my performance, I was forced to leave, find another hotel, and go through an entirely new check-in process under extreme time pressure. It was stressful, unnecessary, and completely avoidable.
The broken air conditioner was not the real problem. The real problem was the lack of accountability, the lack of urgency, and the complete disregard for guest comfort and basic hospitality.
If you value customer service and expect a hotel to take responsibility when things go wrong, I would strongly recommend looking elsewhere.

I am so excited to write a great review for this hotel. My flight got cancelled due to severe weather, which meant that many other flights were grounded too. JFK was a panic-central and it was nearly impossible to find a place to stay overnight in the nearby area, as well as in the city. Exhausted by the 5 hour wait on the plane and the subsequent wait with crowds of frustrated travellers at the airport and other nearby hotels, I made it to the Best Western Soho around 2am. Now I would really love to shout out Ivan, the night manager who was incredibly polite and helpful from the moment I arrived in distress. He struck the perfect balance of going through all the processes properly, while being quick and accommodating, offering water and refreshments. The room was very clean, had anything you could possibly need in it, even earplugs - although I didn't hear any noise through the night and morning even without them. The breakfast was included in the room fare and was really nice and diverse - hot station, waffle maker, as well as deli/continental bits with fruit and some veg. The next day manager was also extremely accommodating and kind. All in all, I can't thank the team at Best Western enough for saving my night and being so accommodating and kind. Highly recommend if you are looking for a clean comfortable bed around lower Manhattan.
