Terribly designed rooms. Bathroom barn door, which never closes, opens onto the bed, so you can’t use the light without blinding the person still in bed. Deadbolt on the door doesn’t lock. Rain shower soaks the floor next to the toilet and can’t be adjusted. Room storage is taken up by things the hotel is trying to get you to buy, an umbrella, sandals, without any functional hangers or hooks. There are hangers but your shirts will trail on the ground. I guess it has vibes if you’re there for the hotel bar? But does anyone really want to pick where they’re staying for the bar? Way too expensive for the bad quality, the awful design choices.

The hotel itself is ok - but the rooms were unlivable. They were incredibly small and on top of that the sound proofing on the windows is EXTREMELY poor. I’m not usually someone that minds some noise but given the location on a busy road and tunnel entrance with tons of traffic at all hours (which you wouldn’t necessarily know unless you see for yourself) - the honking, sirens, and revving engines all night is so loud that I couldn’t sleep (I even have videos showing this). There’s also a strange rattling noise within the room itself in the vents constantly - not sure what that was. The noise issue was so bad that I left the hotel one night early and switched to another hotel which was much more comfortable for a comparable price. I reported this to the hotel team but only got a vague apology for the city’s “enthusiastic streets and sounds” although I also gave notice of the issue the day I left the hotel (my room was vacant for the last night). No other support was given by the hotel, waiting for any resolution. Hope this can be improved - otherwise I’d avoid this property for stays in nyc.

We stayed at Arlo in NYC and unfortunately had a very disappointing experience specifically related to Room 201. Our room was located right beside a conference/event room near the elevator. On Saturday night, there was a party or event in that space, and the noise was extremely loud until around midnight. It was impossible to rest or sleep properly, which is a basic expectation when booking a hotel room. To be fair, this review may not apply to other rooms in the hotel. Other areas of the property may be much quieter, and the hotel itself may be perfectly fine for guests staying away from the event space. However, Room 201 should not be rented to guests on nights when events are scheduled directly beside it, especially late-night events. We are not usually the type of guests to complain, but this situation was unacceptable. I would strongly recommend that future guests ask in advance whether their room is near an event space or elevator area, particularly if staying over a weekend.

This hotel is a complete and total ripoff. Do not stay here. The rooms are far smaller than the photos, and far smaller than any other hotel room I’ve ever stayed at. The front desk help and service is terrible. To get any kind of refund because of the misleading photos, they told us we would need to check into urgent care and get a doctor’s note — and EVEN THEN they said they would likely reject the refund request. The food at the hotel restaurant is generic, overpriced, and mediocre. I would recommend looking for any other hotel in the area, unless you want to pay hundreds of dollars a night to stay in a shoebox. The photo is a wide-angle photo depicting the whole room. We were informed if we got a king bed, there would be no walking room at all.

Location is excellent just a short walk to the main subway connections and a stones throw from the Hudson and far enough away from all the hustle and bustle of the tourist spots. Room is seriously small. Much smaller than anticipated and quite disappointing if I am honest. I understand most cities have small rooms but I feel the design doesn’t accommodate the small space (lack of storage). It didn’t help the one draw for storage was broken and only opened 4-5”. Service was great from check in staff. However the room cleaning left more to be desired. In a 6 day stay my room was only cleaned once without me having to request. In two occasions after being out all day I had to call and ask for the room to be serviced, given the room is so small this probably impacted the stay more than usual and is actually hotel policy I just wasn’t told of. Overall the hotel is great, would I stay again? No I feel there are better hotels at the price point I paid (that isn’t to say you could get a bargain and stay here). FYI - LTD pizza next door is some of the best pizza we had in NYC
