The grounds, check in, experience, cabins, history, what is there not to love? Meticulously landscaped grounds, preserved history, and a spectacular view of the Hudson River! Unplug and restore yourself in one of their well appointed cabins conveniently located on the Hudson River and a short drive to the Kingston Riverfront Area that offers an array of dining shopping and history learning options! Highly recommend to escape the hustle and bustle of everyday life. This is a great place to rest and recharge and would definitely come back!
We booked a non-refundable three-night reservation four months in advance, drove over six hours to the property, and were told by the front desk at 7:30 pm that they had canceled our reservation to make room for a music festival on their property.
We had made our reservation on the World of Hyatt app, which sent us a confirmation email the week before. The desk clerk informed us the Hutton Brickyards had canceled the reservation through Mr & Mrs Smith, which Hyatt acquired a few years ago, but he was not able to tell us when our booking was canceled. He said our reservation was made through a "third party service."
The hotel never reached out at any time to tell us personally they were canceling the reservation; my credit card was already billed at the time of reservation. When they told us they had no rooms available, the hotel made no effort to find alternative lodging: we were told the manager was tied up with the music festival and it was a problem with the Mr & Mrs Smith site. We spent over two hours on the phone with Hyatt while waiting to be walked to another property. Our two kids were with us, and the most we were offered by the front desk staff was coffee or water. From reading other reviews, it sounds like other guests have had their reservation canceled without notice, as well.
Ultimately, Hyatt was able to rebook us at a comparable hotel 2 hours away in New York City. I understand if the Cabins at Hutton Brickyards considers itself above the Hyatt "third party" brand, but as a "destination" hotel, I feel like they missed some of the basics of hospitality.

What a beautiful venue!! Hutton Brickyards has it all: a breathtaking setting, great service, delicious food, and a huge variety of stunning places to host your event.
It can accommodate almost anything: an intimate wedding, a corporate retreat, a huge music festival.
Honestly, there isn’t a better venue around. Check it out! Can’t wait to returns.

The BEST venue ever. Only 1.45 hours from
nYC. Absolutely stunning grounds that can accommodate everything from a huge wedding, reunion, music festival to a more intimate gathering, conference, retreat.
The place sits along the Hudson rivers with views that will take your breath away. The buildings are refurbished industrial buildings that are gorgeous and comfortable. There are tons of picnic tables and adirondacks, fire pits, all over the lawns to kick back and enjoy the view, and friends.
There is also an incredible mansion at the top of the hill next to the retreat center. With 13 beautifully restored bedrooms and grounds it is the perfect place for a smaller wedding, a reunion, etc
The staff is helpful and delightful.
If you have an upcoming event, you can’t do better than Hutton Brickyards. Seriously, check it out.

I actually love this hotel so it's strange not to give it five stars, and yet for how expensive it is there are just little things that rub me the wrong way. As far as the good: the hotel, location and property are incredibly beautiful and always make the most important person (my wife) happy. We had a suite in the main hotel building. The bed was large and comfortable and everything is aesthetically very nice overall. Beautiful view from the window, nice clawfoot tub in the bathroom, etc. However, there were little things like one of the lights was out in the bathroom and there were strange brown spots all over the white paint on the walls (not sure if this was some kind of mold or what). The service just feels a little bit bare bones for what you pay - the people were nice to us, but the property is kind of deserted and doesn't really live up to the "resort" label -- yet they tack on a $30/day "resort" fee that does not actually seem to cover...anything? I very much enjoyed going down to the riverfront part of the property and then on to the very beautifully restored area around the empire state trail. Breakfast in the morning is just some yogurt cups and plastic-wrapped muffins, and the restaurant by the river doesn't open for breakfast. There are a bunch of rooms on the first floor of the hotel (a renovated mansion) that could be nice to have maybe a pool table or games or a lounge, but there's just some random tables and chairs without any seeming purpose. There were no activities or anything going on even though it was an August weekend. I would come back, but there was definite sticker shock when I saw the total bill for our suite and had it not been a special occasion there's no way I'd have spent that much.
