  Bad WIFi. When I logged in the wifi, the other person I was with got kicked out of the wifi. Frustrating. But the room was big and nice. The floor was sticky when we were there. The front desk said the cleaner used too much concentrated cleaning solution. Breakfast was great for a mid tier hotel. Good service and friendly front desk. Overall this place is definitely better than the Fairfield by Marriott next door, which I have also stayed.

  I have no idea how this place is rated as highly as it was. Perhaps our experience was not the norm, but, after this one with this hotel and a recent one in Baltimore at another Holiday Inn Express, I will no longer be booking these hotels. When we arrived just around 6pm on a Friday, I asked if they had accommodated my request for a higher floor room and specifically away from the elevator. The extremely blasé employee at front was like, "We can't do that" and said they were fully booked. When I pushed back about all of the "suites" and upgraded rooms being just outside the elevator he told me that was how this hotel was laid out. That they were ALL beside the elevator. The room was on the second of four floors, in room 211 which was directly across the hall from the elevator. It was also beside a service closet (and thus partially below one from the top floor). Worst case scenario and we did indeed hear extremely loud noises above us at 7am both days. The room itself was in horrible condition, no soap in the dispenser on the wall, holes in the wall not patched from removal of an HVAC control, missing a switch for the lamp by the bed, the switch for over tv lights by the bed didn't work at all, so we had to use the master switch all the way by the door. Stains on the carpet, scuffs on the walls, and a huge water stain on the ceiling and running down a wall. The room was just disgusting and in horrible shape. We paid roughly $350 a night. This was not a cheap hotel stay. The bright spot was breakfast which was included and actually had egg white omelets, cereals, juice, etc. I booked this room 5 months in advance to be put beside an elevator in an upgraded “suite” and listen to furniture being moved all morning. It was miserable.

  Pleasant, professional staff, clean, comfortable rooms. Breakfast is included and a good value. Close proximity to great NYS state parks, colleges.

  Ample parking. Warm greeting when checking in. Spacious room. 2 stars for room because shower head looked a bit rusty, exhaust fan was super noisy, & carpet felt sticky. Bed & pillows were comfortable. Weird configurations for light switches & bedside lamps. Looked like a good breakfast spread, but we were in a rush to head to our next destination. Easy checkout. Other than the shower head & floor, would stay here again if needed.

  As the parent of a college freshman, I was hoping to find a reliable hotel for our family visits over the next four years. Unfortunately, our stay at the Holiday Inn Express & Suites Ithaca (Aug 16–18) fell completely short, and management’s total lack of response since has been just as frustrating. Our primary issue was cleanliness and hygiene. The bathroom had visible mold throughout (photos attached), which is completely unacceptable for any hotel. On top of that, after a long, exhausting day of moving our son into his dorm, we returned to find that housekeeping had simply rearranged the trash instead of emptying it, leaving open food containers sitting in our room. Before arriving, phone interactions with the front desk felt dishonest. Staff claimed the property was "the closest hotel to Ithaca College" (it’s actually just the closest IHG hotel) and tried to act as though they were doing us a favor by "waiving" a parking fee that turns out to be free for all guests anyway. I reached out directly to the General Manager, on August 24th with photos and detailed feedback, hoping to resolve this privately. Weeks later, I have received zero response or acknowledgment. The only bright spot was the wonderful service from Sandie in food services and a very helpful young man on the cleaning crew. However, given the unsanitary room conditions and non-existent management, I cannot recommend this hotel to visiting families.
