My wife and I stayed here while visiting Watkins Glen. It is only an easy 25 minute drive from there. The hotel looks and smells newly constructed. The lobby and rooms were beautiful, modern, and clean. The room had a 50” TV, large shower area, mini fridge, and controllable heating and AC. The staff at the front was friendly and helpful. The free breakfast was about what you would expect. Overall we had a great stay!

We recently booked a room online with Priceline. I typed in pet friendly hotels in Horsehead, NY and Best Western popped up. We thought the price was fair and the property looked good. After arriving, we were told that this hotel is not pet friendly and was told since we were miss informed that they would refund our money. After learning we would get a refund, I booked a different hotel. After three days of talking to Priceline and Best Western they are now refusing to refund our money. We will not be recommending this hotel to anyone. I Guess I should have got this info. in writing.
I was in Watkins Glen for the race this past weekend and hotel reservations fell through at another hotel. The Best Western some how made accommodations for me last minute, not just for one night but for the entire week plus an extra day. I travel alot on my business and stay at alot of hotels but never have I been treated so well. From the Manager to the housekeeping staff, everyone there was genuinely nice people and AMAZING AT THERE VARIOUS JOBS.
I wish I hadn't lost the notes I jotted down with individual names because they all deserve a personal shout out.
But, to the entire staff at the Best Western Plus in Horseheads, the rest of the hotel community can take a page from your play book. You guys and gals are truly second to NONE.
The key to success in any business is the STAFF, and this hotel has managed to get the CREAM OF THE CROP. THANK YOU FOR EVERYTHING. P.S. the kitchen staff was AMAZING. The food was GREAT.

The rooms are spacious, clean and very comfortable. I had a king bed that was a great size with a desk, comfortable chair with ottoman, and a large TV.
Unfortunately I was staying while a high school softball championship was going on in the area and the teenagers in residence were extremely loud, running up and down the halls and screaming while playing hotel tag, but that's not on the hotel, that's on the poor parenting.
We stayed here for one night while driving between Niagara Falls and New York City. The location is very convenient as a midway stop to rest and continue the journey the next day. There is also a nearby shopping and dining area with several good restaurants, which made our stay even more convenient.
The hotel and rooms were exceptionally clean, and the Wi-Fi worked very well throughout our stay. The staff were friendly and helpful.
However, there are a few areas that need improvement. The room acoustics are poor. We could hear people in the hallway, noises from the room above, and even conversations from the neighboring room. If you are a light sleeper and noise affects your sleep, this could be a significant issue.
The breakfast was disappointing. There were no fresh vegetables at all (no tomatoes, cucumbers, or anything similar), the cereal did not seem fresh, and the overall selection was very basic. Everything was served with disposable tableware, which was not ideal. In addition, the pastries were cold and did not taste fresh, as if they had been left over from the previous day.
The pool is quite small and was crowded with noisy children during our visit, making it difficult to relax.
Overall, this is a clean hotel with good service and a convenient location for travelers, but the sound insulation and breakfast could definitely be improved.
