    I do not usually leave reviews but I feel this I warranted to travelers that may have different expectations. I am a frequent traveler for work and love staying at Holiday Inn Express hotels. My issue comes from the way they prior authorize your card. I was charged the day prior for my room which standard for most locations. Upon my arrival I was informed that there was a $150 incidental hold which again very standard, what I was NOT expecting was to see a charge for $355 on my card (room fee plus incidentals) on top of the room fee that was already charged the day prior. When I inquired about this I was informed that they charge the room fee the day before in case you don’t show up and then they charge you again when you arrive it’s “just how we do things” and was told that the extra fee plus incidentals will be returned appropriately 48 hours after your check out. As a person who carefully budgets for a full week of hotel stays this is not common practice. Be prepared to double pay for your stay if you choose to stay at this location. I will say that the room was clean and front desk staff was friendly but should have onboarded me prior to charging me an extra $205.

    Giving service here 5 stars because Gina at front desk was so helpful and friendly! I needed change and she took time out to count out $20 in change for me so I could tip some of the kitchen workers there (breakfast is good). Gestures like this are important to me because front desk is the first line of representation for your stay anywhere, and she was so pleasant with a positive attitude. Will definitely stay here again if they continue to have helpful front desk members like Gina.

    I just recently stated at the Holiday Inn Express by IHG in Hauppauge, New York (located on long Island). I do not usually leave review however I felt it was absolutely necessary. I wanted to commend the young lady at the front desk, her name was Gina. She went ABOVE AND BEYOND for myself and family!! I will forever be a loyal HOLIDAY INN EXPRESS OF HAUPPAUGE GUEST! Thank you to all the staff members, you are doing an outstanding job.

    The lights were half shut off most of the time which made it feel very sweet. The look good, the breakfast was pretty good, but we can’t help heal a little weird. That’s not in the best of the areas and then the lights are half shut off at the front desk I had to ask For reward miles or even a welcome bottle of water.

    If I could give 0 stars, I would. Check-in was a nightmare. Sonia at the front desk had a terrible attitude and told me she “couldn’t split payment between two cards,” which made no sense. There’s a sign in the lobby stating “No Pets,” yet the front desk supervisor was playing with a cat instead of assisting Sonia, who clearly needed help. The room was unacceptable: dirty carpets, visible mold, stained curtains, and the shower curtain rod was literally hanging off the wall. When I reported this to the male front desk supervisor, he was dismissive and rude. He said someone would come fix the issues around 9 AM. I returned at 5 PM and nothing had been done. They eventually moved us to a different room, but by that point most staff we interacted with had an attitude and acted like the room’s condition was somehow my fault. There was zero concern for guest issues. They didn’t even offer a partial refund or anything. This location needs to be inspected. If you have asthma, allergies, or small children, avoid it. Drive the extra few minutes to the Center Reach location instead — it’s clean and the staff there are professional and polite. Juan and Melinda were the only friendly staff !
