  I have stayed in multiple hotels in the Syracuse area because I have a student at the university. Holiday Inn Express in Dewitt is absolutely lovely. Parking is easy, it’s close to everything without being in the middle of the city. Staff were all absolutely fabulous from check in (Kristy) to the evening staff (Cindy and Alandra). They pay attention to detail in this hotel, with orange-themed snacks and drinks in the afternoon and fresh baked chocolate chip cookies. The room was very clean…..love the Dove products supplied. Ironing board and iron, hair dryer, fridge/microwave in the room. For a full hotel last night it was surprisingly quiet. Breakfast in the morning was an added bonus. I sought out the manager (Brandon) to sing staff praises and he stood talking with me, complimenting each and every person I mentioned to him. He clearly cares about his staff and his hotel. And it shows.

  We stayed at Holiday Inn Express & Suites DeWitt bc all the downtown hotels at Syracuse University were sold out. I will only stay at this property from now on. The rooms were very clean, so there’s that, but the real reason is the staff! From Kristy getting me a room a night earlier than my anticipated arrival date to Cindy and Alandra holding down the fort at night, they are the nicest front desk staff. Then, Sonya and the rest of the ladies setting up breakfast were delightful! They even do really fun things for the students during the weeks of move-in, like Orange snacks and drinks. Thanks to Brandon for taking such great care of his team. It’s obvious by how long your staff has worked here that you’re going a great job.

  We loved our stay at this hotel. The staff was so welcoming and our room was large and very comfortable. We will absolutely stay here again the next time we're in the area.

  I checked in after midnight and the front desk agent never mentioned late checkout as an option. The next morning while I was at a work meeting, my wife was alone in our room with our son who is under two years old. Without any warning, two managers and three housekeeping staff showed up at the door demanding she leave immediately. They refused her request for a late checkout, offered zero help with luggage, and forced her to sit alone in the lobby with our crying toddler surrounded by staff as if she were being monitored. Not one person offered to help her. The most infuriating part: staff later told her the room could have been extended after she had already been forced out with all our belongings. When I returned to the hotel to address this, the front desk was completely unstaffed. I am an IHG Gold Elite member. I filed a formal complaint. The General Manager responded twice without addressing a single specific incident, simply stating his team acted “professionally.” No apology to my wife, no compensation, no accountability. This was one of the most disappointing hotel experiences I have had. I would not recommend this property to anyone traveling with family.
