  We had a great stay at the Chalet of Canandaigua during our New York Finger Lakes trip. The grounds are well kept and decorated for fall, our room was clean and cozy, and the breakfast each morning was delicious. Our hosts created a very welcoming environment, and even placed roses in our room in recognition of our 40th wedding anniversary. I would recommend this B&B to anyone traveling to the area.

  This was a great place. Best Bed and Breakfast service we have encountered. Beautiful home. We would definitely go back.

  We stayed for an overnight for our anniversary..No hot water??!!! The innkeeper said he was aware that the valve "sticks" and hadn't gotten around to fix it yet. Later, after our dinner at a local restaurant, the hot water was restored...until the morning when we went to shower and it was again not working. We decided to leave immediately and stated we would not be eating breakfast (the cookies that were baked for our arrival "greeting" were under cooked and we didn't feel safe eating or staying there any longer) the innkeeper only stated that he was "sorry" when hearing that the hot water was again not working. Our stay was horrible. We had stayed there in the past several times with positive results but is now under new management...don't take a chance.

  Can't say enough good things about the Chalet of Canandaigua. From the moment we arrived I knew this was going to be a special place. Absolutely gorgeous setting and structure and Gerardo (apologies if I've misspelled your name!) was one of the most welcoming, sincere, and warm innkeepers I've ever met. When we arrived, we were asked if we'd like a beverage and we opted for lemonade. You can imagine my surprise when he went out to the garden to pick fresh mint to add to it! That was within the first 30 seconds and the attention to detail was maintained throughout our 3-night stay. His breakfasts were incredible and we felt not just welcomed but *warmly* welcomed the entirety of our time there. The room was gorgeous and the property was perfect for decompressing and relaxing on a much needed vacation. We also had the opportunity to meet and talk with Melanie whose passion for the Chalet was obvious from the start of our conversation. Sometimes a vacation ends and you're ready to go home and sometimes a vacation ends and you want to spend another week in your surroundings. The Chalet of Canandaigua falls squarely into the latter. We didn't want to leave and it's the beauty and charm of the setting along with Gerardo's presence that made it that way. Absolutely wonderful experience and can't recommend it enough.
