Wildly overpriced ($400 a night). Very rude staff (specifically a very short guy at the front desk who claimed his name is “Mike”. No late checkout, according to “Mike.“ Room doors are very close together, so when someone else leaves, you know it. This morning someone checked out apparently for an early morning flight and slammed their door open and closed about 20 times at 4 AM. Hotel is kind of a dump. Try the Even or Ace hotels 100 feet away on either side. I’ll never come back. Blame the loss of a customer on “Mike”. Doubt that’s his real name.

Honestly the most miserable hotel experience I’ve had in my life. Will never stay at any Holiday Inn again. Nothing to do with the front desk staff; they were probably the only positive part of the stay. They were responsive and tried their best to rectify the laundry list of issues, but nothing ever got done. Decent location if you need to commute into Manhattan but that’s about the only benefit of staying here.
Just some of the issues:
- Room was musty and floor slightly damp.
- A brown liquid seeped out of the corner and stained a pair of pants which needed to be dry cleaned.
- The toilet was not functioning and took 5+ calls to get a plunger to the room, even after a trip to the front desk to try and get one myself.
- Maintenance on the elevators during checkout time made it take 20+ minutes to get downstairs with bags.
- Woken up by fire alarm testing at 10am on a Saturday.
- No body wash in the shower for the first day and had to go myself get a replacement.
- Shower floor dirty and water pressure very poor.
- The gym is also very lacklustre, half the dumbbells are missing and the one bench is broken, but not really going to fault them for that because what can you expect from a hotel gym.
- generally the place was dirty, especially the elevators.
Nothing that is experience-defining on its own (sometimes stuff happens), but the repeated and constant minor disruptions to the stay made it constantly stressful. I was always waiting for the next annoyance, which seemed to pop up daily. Not what you want from a hotel - would seek elsewhere.

Staying at this hotel felt like death by a thousand cuts. I couldn't relax at all in our room and after this experience I now know that just because something is a chain doesn't mean it's going to live up to a certain standard of quality.
When we got to our room, it smelled a little musty. Eh- can live with that, but not a great start. Then I went to put our bags away. There's nowhere to put a second suitcase. You have the table and that's it, not even a second chair. I put my bag on top of the microwave. Then I went to go plug in my phone. There's no charger on one side of the bed (what the hell?). Ok, all mild annoyances. The room is tiny but it is NYC. I go to shower and the door doesn't close all the way so I step out onto a sopping wet floor mat. It still hasn't dried by the next night when I shower again. And possibly the worst offense, when we went to bed there was no damn fitted sheet at all. I think I've seen hotels use flat sheets and tuck them in, which is fine with me, but their flat sheet seemed to be a full size on a queen bed, because it barely draped over the top of the mattress. Couldn't sleep all night because every time I turned over I was basically ripping up the flat sheet with me. I've never seen such a setup at a hotel. Place is just plain stingy. They gave us exactly two towels and only one room key card too, which really summed up the experience of getting the absolute bare minimum here.

Location is great, really central to Brooklyn and 15-30 min away from Manhattan depending on where you are going. Extremely convenient with 3 subway station within walking distance. So much food options halal and non halal. Mosques 10 min walk also. There are groceries, malls, target, Bodegas and Trader Joes nearby. It's a very mixed neighborhood and has really vibrant feel. Mornings are amazing with brooklyners going about their ways while tourists come and go.
Now to actual hotel, to sleep in and rest your head is fine. For comfort and amenities this is not it. So many issues, rooms are extremely small but clean. Elevators only 2 and half the time only one works. Mostly teenagers or young grads Manning the reception which is fine but not a professional look.
Gym 24hrs, Swimming pool has restricted hours. Lobby very small but quaint and is actually very nice. Parking is valet, it's New York don't expect suburb style parking but they do a great job. AC IS good, housekeeping is good make sure you advise them to clean everyday.
Guests area, its like a bus station just so busy all the time.
Overall price you pay is for location not hotel amenities or level of comfort for hotel at this price point. However our stay was nice while crammed it was pleasant. Would I stay here again? Maybe if the price was lowered and rooms were bigger. Pls fix elevators, this is terrible for elderlies and people with disabilities.
Staff are very nice and never tried the restaurant.
Thanks hoiday inn Brooklyn, thank you Brooklyn and thank you New York City for summer 2026 memories. New York is a special place, you have to soak it in and go with the flow. We can't wait to see you again Brooklyn and NYC.

I was very disappointed with my stay. I usually bring my own cleaning products when I travel, thank God I did. The bathroom shower wasn't throughly cleaned. Someone's hair was still on the shower walls. The rugs didn't look like it had been vacuumed. And we requested from the front desk 2x for and extra blanket that NEVER arrived! Smh, not good. I've stayed at hotels that were less fancy but at least they were responsive to guests requests and the bathrooms were clean. Another issue is the lack of complimentary breakfast. You're spending a decent amount of money and they don't provide at least breakfast. I mean at least have breakfast for Diamond Elite members. Other places provide complimentary breakfast. The final issue is that they lack large luggage carts. They provide a very small cart that requires several trips and it appears they only have one for hundreds of people checking in and out. Smh, very disappointed. This Holiday Inn must do better!
