  The location is the only thing good about this hotel. The service is horrible, including their furniture. I added photos of the peeling furniture (The peeling literally sticks to your skin). Just to be transparent with the price. This booking costs $300 per night. I had to change my room to better furniture because of the peeling furniture and I had to pay for a room change that is not my fault. $40 extra for each night. I could not even cancel my stay when I asked because they told me there is no refund and I have to deal with it. Only reason I am super disappointed is because I always book Holiday Inns and it has never been this bad.

  This hotel is in dire need of a makeover. I've started in plenty of New York City hotels. This is not about it's size but only about it's upkeep. The floors, ceilings, and beds are beyond help. The neglect is stronger at this hotel than at an orphanage.

  Disappointing Stay - Location Can't Save This Mess The only redeeming quality of this hotel is its prime location -- close to subway stations and surrounded by food options. Unfortunately, everything else about our experience was deeply frustrating and frankly disgusting. Cleanliness Issues Upon entering the room, we were shocked by the thick layer of dust covering EVERY surface -- including the coffee machine! It appeared the housekeeping crew had changed the sheets at some point but never actually wiped down or sanitized anything. The bathroom contained hairs (needless to say, this was gross), the carpet felt sticky to the touch, and the AC vents were caked with dust. Worse yet, certain lighting revealed what appeared to be mold on the walls, and the room felt perpetually muggy regardless of the temperature setting. We ended up buying cleaning supplies ourselves to sanitize the spaces we were actually using. Service Failures - Requested more towels and washcloths; waited an hour, received towels only (no washcloths) - Requested toilet paper; 3 hours later, still waiting -- had to call again - Elevator waits frequently exceeded 10 minutes; the maintenance teams seemed to occupy one of the two elevators for maintenance, which caused delays. We often just opted to use the stairs. Other Concerns While complimentary laundry facilities are advertised for guest use under their amenities, hotel staff use the machines to wash the comforters and sheets from the rooms often leaving no machines available for guest use. One fellow hotel guest told me that her clothes were removed from the dryer (still damp) while she had stepped away and replaced them with linens. We ended up walking to a local laundromat (Brooklyn Sudz -- highly recommend) to wash our clothes. Bottom Line There are cleaner better hotels on this same street that may be more worth considering (especially for the price). I wont be returning. See photos of dusty surfaces, vents, mold on walls, etc.

  Good hotel in excellent location very close to subway with easy access to the city. The room we were in was very good and, by NY standards, was a good size. Hotel undergoing improvements so all rooms may not be as good. We were on the 12th floor. Service on check-in was unhelpful and one member of staff was quite rude but apart from that all fine. We stayed at the neighbour "Ace Hotel" a few months before and is "cooler" but a good bit more expensive. Over all this is a good option for a Brooklyn hotel with good prices.

  I’ll start by saying that the staff is very friendly and accommodating. The location is great, and the price is reasonable for this area. That being said, the actual facilities are subpar at best. When my family first arrived in our room, it was extremely musty. The sheets had several dirt marks, and the air-conditioning vent cover was loose and easily removable. We were able to lift it and see a significant amount of dust and grime inside. The staff quickly replaced the sheets, which I appreciated. However, the carpets in the room were disgusting and badly in need of replacement. They had visible stains and dirt and constantly felt slightly damp. I was so uncomfortable with the feeling of them that I wouldn’t even walk barefoot. There was also minimal lighting in the room. I’m not sure if this was a design choice, but at night, it was nearly impossible to properly light the room. The only lighting consisted of a small mounted lamp between the two beds and a small light in the entryway. The wallpaper was dated and covered in scuff marks and general wear and tear. There was also very poor noise control. Even on the 7th floor, traffic noise and emergency sirens sounded as though I were sleeping in the middle of the street, and they woke me up several times throughout the night. Overall, this is a place where you can stay if you simply need somewhere safe to sleep and then go about your day. However, if you’re looking for a comfortable or enjoyable hotel experience beyond that, I would not recommend it. I hope Holiday Inn has some necessary updates to the property in the plans.
