  I travel to Albany for work on a regular basis. I was staying at another hotel in the area, but was unsatisfied at the old place. I will absolutely be staying at the Holiday Inn Express again. My room was very clean. Parking was ample. They allowed Instacart to deliver to your door. There are plenty of places to shop and eat nearby. The walls are thin. You can hear your neighbors TVs, not well enough to hear their the dialog of what they are watching, you just know they're watching something. My neighbor was not happy with his hockey team during playoffs. The devious part of me wanted to start shouting along with him, because I felt like I was in the room with him. I didn't complain, because I also shout at my hockey team and the referees. I did request an extra blanket and never heard back from the hotel staff. I bought a blanket and pillow (pillow explained below), and they stopped making my bed until I removed my pillow and blanket. This didn't really bother me, it was mostly surprised. I've never had a hotel do that before, and I 100% understand why it happened. I assume the hotel probably has very strict rules in place that state that the staff is not allowed to touch guest property. They couldn't make the bed without touching my things. It is honestly reassuring that the staff followed the rule to that extent. The only place I could make a complaint is the sheets and pillow cases felt like sand paper against my skin. That said this could have been a "me" issue. I do have tactile sensory issues. Sheets are problematic for me. I have to touch them before I buy them. I've even had problems with high thread count cotton. I was able to work around the sheets, but I needed a pillow I could put my face on. Buying a pillow case to use on the hotel pillows seemed weird, so I bought a pillow and a "touchable" pillow case.

  Clean bed in a convenient location, near the airport and near shopping. Building is dated, walls are thin, room was tight but the staff were wonderful and are doing good things with an older building layout.

  The staff is nice. But this place is kinda dusty. Genuinely shocked that our company put us here. Crappy and dangerous location in a sad and desolate town. The halls and elevator are dingy and the room itself has a muggy, cheap feel to it. There’s no other way to say this, but once you’ve become accustomed to a certain standard- it becomes extremely difficult to settle for or even tolerate places like this. The staff does give us suites every time, as opposed to just rooms. So a couple stars for that.
