  We've stayed here at least 5 times the last 3 months and the service has gone down. We used to be greeted with a smile but the last 2 times was a complete 180. Feels like you're bothering them when you walk in. They also don't recognize your membership level and doesn't provide bottled water that comes with your membership level. Won't be staying in this hotel anymore.

  I recently stayed here to escape a fire that threatened my house. There weren't many options that would work because we have a dog. The staff here were incredible (Jennifer, especially). The vibe of the place seems like retro, but remodeled a bit. The pool is clean, deep (it goes to 10'), and brisk. The room looked really clean, but the floors were NOT. They smelled like stinky feet, and if you remove your shoes, your socks are BLACK. There is no carpet which would great if they mopped once in a while (wishfully, every time they cleaned).The AC unit was so loud that we couldn't hear the TV at "max volume". I soon learned why and that's because the walls are paper thin, and you can hear the people in neighboring rooms as if they are in there as well. It wasn't the worst place to stay, especially under the circumstances, but for the price (over $250 a night) it was a total ripoff. We left as soon as we could even though we had paid for the night, if that tells you anything. This place says that they accept pets, and that is half true. They accept dogs (no cats), and they don't say "pet friendly" for a reason. There is no real grass anywhere. The astroturf in the quad is off-limits to the dogs (understandably). The "dog area" is a shaded sand platform at the very edge, and back of the property that to get to would mean walking across a lot of hot concrete. Needless to say, I will not be returning. I also would not recommend this place at all.

  My husband and I were evacuated Saturday because of the Hawk Fire currently ravaging Reno. We were told that many of the hotel-casinos were offering fire victims a much reduced room rate. Unfortunately, by the time we were told to evacuate all the hotels we checked were filled. We had little choice but to try a motel south of town, we came across Aidan by Best Western & we booked a room (NO DISCOUNT) for the night. At booking we said we fire evacuees and weren't how long we would need to stay. As the fire has raged we booked a second night, no problem. When we needed more nights we were told this morning our room was booked for someone else, they were all booked, nothing they could do. We feel the front desk should have advised us on Saturday to book multiple rooms. We are very upset. Thankfully, we were able to get a reduced rate LUXURY room at the El Dorado, on the18th floor, beautiful views, very comfortable. Aidan should be ashamed of themselves for not accommodating a local, displaced elderly couple during a citywide disaster!

  Rachel at the front desk is AWESOME!! Give that girl a raise because she turned a CON into a PRO like a total pro! Seriously, after being turned off by a severe lack of hospitality upon check-in, the next a.m. Rachel changed my entire experience here, directly responsible for increased rating from 3 to 4 stars. Valuable team member. PROS: *Easy to find location *Free parking and plenty of it *Room for big rig, RV & camper parking if you want a break from being on wheels for a night or 2 *Spacious property *Well kept property *Dog friendly *VERY clean room (great job, housekeeping! 🎉) *Excellent value *Hair dryer and travel shampoo, etc. *Early check-in was very generous, given I had an event to attend, had to bring my dog on the trip, and it was 90° *Steamer, not iron (total bonus since I forgot mine!) *There is a room safe *Large in-room fridge, microwave, nice desk & chair for work *Room was well laid out, plenty of space for stuff *Close to EVERYTHING! Seriously great location for dinner, shopping, entertainment. CONS: *Burned the hell out of my hand on the door to my room, not realizing it was like lava. The doors are METAL and the West-facing doors heat up to dangerous levels in the late afternoon. *I'm a swimmer, so I inquired how late the pool was open upon check-in. She said 9pm. I waited until 8:00 when I thought the pool would be empty. Got down there and it closed at 8pm, not 9. *Several homeless people in the parking lot next door. Didn't feel unsafe, just not ideal for a nice lodging property. Overall, nice room, great location, and Rachel for the win!

  Very clean updated rooms(except tub which is odd. Maybe still to come?). Bed very comfortable, nice sheets, pillows and lightweight comforter. Excellent sound control. Unusual for this range hotel. Better than many higher priced. Lots of desk space. Excellent little fridge with ice section and microwave. All in new condition. Bathroom sink outside toilet area and completely redone. Has beauty ring lighting around mirror which is rarely found in even in higher end hotels. Very nice touch. Side tables with lamps and outlets. Chaise couch with a movable desk table. Keurig coffee in room. Very well appointed. Small sand dog run(not enclosed) at end of parking lot in shade which is appreciated by us dog owners. AC worked well even in western facing room. Love they accept pets without extreme price gouge. Let's hope people are responsible with their pets and don't make management regret it! The address is excellent for availability of retail and mostly fast food. Many, including Whole Foods are nearby and walkable. Only negative, which is not reflective of hotel management, is there is a homeless contingent on nearby parking lots. Not overwhelming. Still feels safe. Property does a good job keeping squatters away. For the price, it's a safe, clean, quiet, conveniently located hotel. Have paid more for less.
