My Personal Experience at Atwell Suites Henderson
This review is based on my personal experience during my stay at Atwell Suites Henderson.
From the moment I arrived, the staff was friendly and welcoming. I really enjoyed the lobby, it was nice, clean, modern, and smelled great. They have complimentary coffee, water, and tea available for guests, which was a nice touch. The sitting areas were comfortable, and overall, the lobby was one of my favorite areas of the hotel.
The pool area was also nice and clean. The water was a little cold for me, but that is definitely a personal preference. I also really enjoyed the fitness center. They have great workout machines and dumbbells, so I was able to get a good workout in during my stay.
Now for the room. My room was nice and clean, smelled fresh, and had modern furniture. I especially liked the tall workspace table. And the view was incredible! My room overlooked the Las Vegas Strip, which was beautiful, especially at night.
The only part of my stay that didn’t work well for me was the bed and pillows. I personally need a firm mattress, and the bed was much too soft for me. I asked if a firmer mattress was available, but I was told that all of the beds were the same and they didn’t have a firm option. That was disappointing for me because I ended up sleeping on the firmer couch during my stay.
The pillows were also too soft for my preference and didn’t give my neck enough support, so I actually ended up using a folded towel as my pillow. Again, this is very much a personal comfort preference, if you enjoy softer beds and pillows, you may have a completely different experience.
The complimentary breakfast was pretty basic, but hey, it was free, so I enjoyed it! 😊
The hotel does have a restaurant, but the food options were very limited during my stay. They only had wings available, and unfortunately, they didn’t have much flavor. One night I got hungry in the middle of the night and went downstairs hoping to get something to eat, but there wasn’t any food available. I ended up having to walk to the nearby casino to find food, which was a little inconvenient for me. I would definitely love to see more food options available, especially for guests who get hungry later at night.
Overall, I enjoyed my stay. The hotel was clean, modern, quiet, and a nice place to relax. The staff was friendly, the common areas were comfortable, the fitness center was great, and that Strip view was definitely a highlight. If they offered a firm mattress and firmer pillow options, it would have made my stay much more comfortable.
We stayed here while my child attended a hockey camp at First American Center in Henderson, and the location couldn’t have been better. It’s literally across the street from the rink, so no early morning drive for those 8 a.m. ice times!
If you’re coming for a hockey camp or tournament at First American Center, I’d definitely recommend this hotel. It was about a $30–40 Uber ride from the airport.
The hotel also has a nice lounge/meeting area on the second floor that would work well for team meetings or just hanging out. Our room had a microwave, mini fridge, and sink, and we appreciated the free breakfast, onsite parking, and outdoor pool. The front desk staff were very friendly throughout our stay.
The only downside was housekeeping. We were told there were only two people cleaning the entire hotel, so service was limited and sometimes very slow.
Overall, we had a great stay and would absolutely stay here again for another hockey event.
