  You can tell this place is popular with working guys—lots of big pickup trucks parked outside—but it’s also a great choice for couples and families. The lobby looks great, with warm lighting and a surprisingly nice gift shop. The restaurant has a full bar and plenty of food options. Definitely try the fried cod. It’s the best fish I’ve had in ages

  We felt like our stay in the Best Western Plus Hotel in Raton, NM was fine and overall, a good value: Pros: Our room was clean and spacious; the service was great – friendly and helpful. The location was fine, far enough from the interstate so you don’t hear a lot of traffic noise but close enough to be convenient if you are just passing through. There is a decent bar/restaurant on site which is nice after a long day of driving. The breakfast buffet was excellent. Cons: There is an indoor pool, but no hot tub which was disappointing. The complementary shampoo, conditioner and body wash were tiny – not really enough for more than one person. There was some noise from the parking lot but fortunately it did not last late into the night. Other: The rooms have an entry door inside the building but also a motel style door leading outside to the parking lot, which is unusual but might come in handy in case of an emergency, although some people might not like that for safety reasons. The layout was also unusual, with the rooms surrounding a very large atrium which includes the indoor pool. I assume they may host events here, otherwise that is a big waste of space. It could get noisy, but no one was using the pool or congregating in the atrium while we were there.

  Worst hotel stay of my life I think. The area is not nice, lots of stray dogs and unhoused people walking by the hotel. Upon entering the room I saw the back small window was open with a wash rag tied in the blinds like someone was smoking out of the back window and the hotel didn’t even notice or check that all windows in the room were closed and locked. Super safe! Also I loved hearing my neighbors flicking on their bathroom light, flushing the toilet, washing hands, showering til 2am. The rooms are paper thin you may as well sleep in one big room with every guest bc you will hear everything your neighbors do. The bed is also rock hard, pillows were so worn down and split in the middle. Bathroom had dingle berrys all over bathroom floor. I love to look at and clean up other peoples crappy toilet paper such a perk to this 5 star hotel! Lastly, the rooms say no smoking but the room near the dog park had lawn chairs and smoked right outside and allowed their dog to run loose and it attacked my dog bc their door was wide open at 12am allowing their dog to roam. Same thing in the morning. So welcoming to fear my dog being attacked over and over and to have cigarettes blown in my face first thing in the morning. I will do everything in my power to make sure I never have to sleep in Raton again. ALSO THIS MOTEL HAD THE MOST INCONSIDERATE NEIGHBORS WHO LET THEIR DOGS BARK BARK BARK ALL NIGHT AND AGAIN AT 7am while they left it in the room while they went to breakfast. This place should be $70.

  We only live 2 hrs away and this is our 1 night get away that we run to. The restaurant is wonderful, the breakfast is amazing, the rooms and suites are gorgeous, the staff are very nice, the grounds are clean and kept, the hotel is quiet, spotless clean and intimate. We love it and will be going back soon for a 4th time.

  The hotel staff were absolutely amazing. They were friendly, helpful and made the stay so enjoyable. The room was clean, beds were comfortable, and it was very quiet at night. The breakfast was amazing. The choices were excellent and the breakfast staff were super friendly. This was one of the best stays at a Best Western that I have ever had.
