After a long drive, I entered the hotel with a half hearted greeting from the check in staff. My husband came in afterwards and the staff gave him an enthusiastic greeting. She was gushing. I guess she prefers the company of men more than women. Then she was pushy with joining the Holiday Inn membership crap. She said we would get better rooms and rates. So I guess if I do not join their royalty program I would get a shitty room which we got, right on top of the front door. I was woken at 3am by someone talking loudly at the front door of the hotel. Not many choices in Los Alamos. I never understood how Holiday Inn can charge such high prices. Is it the ultra processed breakfast that everyone raves about? Oh yes we weren't even checked in so I couldn't log into the internet. But the Canyon Rim trail was fabulous. Nature saves the day.

Excellent. Pool was very chlorine-y so we didn't go in. Everything else was great. Great continental breakfast and service all around.

Extremely disappointing experience. The biggest issue was not being locked out of our room while I was ill and needed immediate access to a medication—it was how Assistant General Manager QUTELL ADDERLEY handled the situation. Instead of helping, she repeatedly accused us of not paying for the room despite our prepaid reservation. She also intentionally delayed restoring access to our room while my spouse pleaded with her saying I was unwell. What makes this even worse is that when we filed a formal complaint, the employee whose conduct was being reported turned out to be the same person who investigated herself and responded by email to our complaint. She referred to the person who abused my wife as "the team member who assisted you," creating the appearance of an independent review of another person when there was just herself. I will never recommend this hotel. The customer service standards at this property are far below what one would reasonably expect. After spending hundreds of dollars on our stay, we expected professionalism, courtesy, and basic customer service. Instead, we left with the impression that guest concerns are minimized, complaints are handled by the very employees being complained about, and accountability is largely absent. Moreover, the subpar service came directly from QUTELL ADDERLEY who is the Assistant Manager of the hotel. We have instructed all our employees from our company to not longer use this hotel We tried to assress this issue and get an investigation but the policy of the hotel is to assign employees to investigate themselves. Finally, also QUTELL ADDERLEY made unprofessional remarks about the other front desk employee, the staff member who checked us in, and while looking at the computer stated that it was “crap, just crap” referring to either the employee, ourselves, or the system. We tried to be patient and be fair, we would have like to resolve this case with the hotel acknowledging responsibility, unfortunally we lost hope after our case was assigned to the person who caused the issue.

We started our vacation on 6/17/26, and decided to take a chance at Holiday Express. Wow was this a mistake! I was told that "they were sold out but may have a cancelation". Sure enough there was, and we were given a room. It turns out that the room was on the basement level, next to the pool room, exercise room, laundry and ice machine room. Well, these rooms were active most of the night with the constant slamming of the doors... Each making enough noise and percussion to wake us from a sound sleep. However, worst was the incredible noise and sounds that started around 5:AM. Turns out we were directly below the kitchen area. We got very little sleep. We discussed this very calmly with the desk clerk and she immediately agreed that that area is noisy and usually given to construction workers who get up early. So naturally, I asked if there would be compensation. And we were planning to stay another 2 to 3 days. Her response was "Absolutely NO!" We were taken by her response. The one night cost nearly $300. I will never spend a dime at this hotel chain and will share this with as many people as I can..

A very nice and convenient option for visiting the lab when it's available, good clean rooms and consistent breakfast. The new bean-to-cup coffee machines are a bit gimicky and only slowly make 2/3 of a cup at a time, which is annoying compared to a standard carafe. The guest laundry is in desperate need of an update, the machines are small and half of them were out of order when I last stayed, not to mention the fact that they're quarter-operated and the front desk said they only exchange coins for cash, so there's no card option without driving to an ATM.
