Great rooms, great housekeeping, staff members were all friendly and accommodating. Breakfast was well stocked and tasty. FYI- if you book your room with a 3rd party (ie- booking.com, Expedia, kayak, etc) your special requests or important information doesn’t always get communicated to the hotel. I had “special instructions” that I was traveling with a dog, however booking.com didn’t communicate this to the hotel. Upon check out I saw I was charged $120 fee for a pet in a non pet room. I reached out booking.com and confirmed I included the pet, they emailed the hotel, and the additional charge was removed without hassle. Excellent customer service. If you have an issue just communicate it to them and they do a great job resolving it.

After driving almost 8 hours, we arrived at Best Western Plus. I booked a suite weeks ago for my husband and I to celebrate our anniversary. As I was checking us in the man behind the counter says "Two queen beds". Puzzled, I said "No. I thought I booked a bigger room with a king". Ftr- I always book rooms with a king bed. I looked up my reservation on Expedia, and yes, I booked a Junior suite. The man behind the counter said I only booked it last night, and Expedia didn't know they were sold out. I told him it was booked weeks ago. He said I could take the extremely down graded room or I could cancel the room by calling Expedia. He absolutely didn't care. There was a sign that reads "manager on duty", so I asked to speak to the manager. He told me no manager was available. I told him the sign reads that there is a manger on duty. He told me he could open the door so I could see there's no one back there. Absolutely frustrated I said, "So you're telling me there's no manager to talk to about this, you guys gave away my room I already paid for, and my only option is accept an extremely down graded room or cancel?" He said "I didn't give your room away, another associate did." I never had this happen. I just couldn't believe the absolute lack of caring. It'd be like traveling 8 hours and going into a restaurant and ordering a nice steak, they make you pay for it ahead of time and they bring you out a hot dog and say eat it or don't. We don't care. I knew there was no point in continuing the conversation. So, I walked over to their breakfast area and called Expedia. Expedia was extremely helpful. They booked me a better room at the Townplace Suites across the street. The room was actually almost double in price. But Expedia didn't charge me anything extra. So, I suppose Best Western Plus did me a favor by giving away my room. I let the man behind the counter know he did me a favor. I absolutely would not recommend booking a room here. I lucked out, obviously, with the fact that The Townplace Suites across the street was able to accommodate me. So. Just know, you take your chances by booking with Best Western Plus.
