We chose this Holiday Inn specifically for the indoor pool and waterslide, and unfortunately the experience was very disappointing.
Before booking, I called to confirm the pool and waterslide would be open during our Saturday stay, and I was assured there would be no issues since a lifeguard would be on duty. However, within about 10 minutes of arriving at the pool, it was shut down because the lifeguard said she had an emergency and was leaving. While emergencies happen, it was frustrating to see time spent arguing with another guest instead of resolving the situation or providing a clear plan for reopening. Kids were going down the slide since no one ever came and place the white gates that were in place the next morning.
The hot tub was another major letdown—it was dirty, wasn’t working properly, and seemed poorly maintained. The pool itself was overcrowded, with far more people than expected, and it didn’t appear that access was being monitored. We even saw non-guests entering, which made the space feel chaotic and over capacity.
The next morning, when the pool reopened at 9 AM, conditions hadn’t improved. The hot tub looked even worse, there were no towels available—front desk employees were the ones bringing towels over, which added to the sense that the property may be understaffed.
This hotel used to be one of our favorites years ago, but it clearly isn’t being maintained the same way. One elevator with a sign 4 people at a time. Stairs closed.
For nearly $200 a night, I expected much better—especially cleaner facilities and for advertised amenities like the waterslide to actually be available.
Unfortunately, we won’t be staying here again.

Specifically booked here to be able to go to the hotel tub was told it worked and was open. It doesn't work. Timer was broke so didn't bubble. Room was ok but bathroom was dirty. Elevator sounded like it was about to collapse and you could tell was having issues. For the price I don't think it was worth it.

I’d give this place 5 stars if they would fix their elevators already! I’ve stayed here before and one of the elevators was out & the working one was scary so I stopped staying here. I stayed here again and the elevators are still not fixed. The freeway is also super loud. Good luck if you’re a light sleeper. Room’s nice. Service is good. FIX YOUR ELEVATORS!!!!

Please don’t stay here if coming with family! We originally chose a hotel closer to Bernalillo High but it was completely sold out. They directed us to this hotel. The room is fine. Normal sized room with normal amenities. The towels in our bathroom were old and shredded.
The pool water is murky! Not enough chairs to sit. It has a slide which is cool.
This the first holiday inn I’ve been at that doesn’t offer free breakfast. The kids are free as long as the adults pay.
The elevators are scary. One is out of order and the one shakes the entire time you’re on it. We ended up using the stairs every time - up and down, to and from the 6th floor.
There’s a loud couple in the next room screaming, cussing and fighting all while their baby cries. I informed the front desk at 11:30pm and they have yet to do something about it.
I would never stay here again.

Been here waiting for 6hrs. For our rooms. The time keeps changing. We made a straight drive an can't get into our room. Half of our trip is already over. Due to waiting for our rooms. Day just passing. Next time we'll find a better place.
