  The staff at this hotel is always incredibly friendly and helpful. We arrived early, hoping we might be able to check in, and were pleasantly surprised that our room was already ready. They got us checked in right away, which was a great start to our stay. The hotel is currently undergoing renovations on the second floor, but we were fortunate to receive one of the newly renovated rooms on the third floor. The room was beautiful, spacious, and exceptionally clean. One of the TVs wasn't working when we arrived, but the staff responded quickly and had it fixed in no time. My only minor complaint is that the mattress was a little too soft for our liking, but that's simply a matter of personal preference. The location is excellent, within walking distance of several great restaurants and just an easy drive to White Sands National Park. One unique perk is that the hotel offers saucers for guests to borrow to go sledding on the dunes, which was a fun bonus. Breakfast was another highlight. It was set up about 10 minutes before the official opening time and offered a great selection of food—including bacon, which isn't always common at hotel breakfasts. Coffee is also available in the lobby 24/7. We've stayed at this hotel several times over the years, and it has never disappointed us. We look forward to staying here again on our next visit.

  Before booking the room I had called to specifically ask if the pool would open for use. I was told yes only the second floor would be off limits due to construction renovations. When we tried to use the pool it was not open and the lady in front was very rude saying that they couldn't guarantee the pool being open. If we would have known this we would have booked elsewhere. As members we felt very deceived and disrespected.

  We came here during renovations, so from the start we expected a worse experience than we would normally get. When we first arrived into the room we could see why renovations were happening, the room was a little dated and there was a very distinct smell of cleaner and bleach. When we wanted to buy a snack from the snack area there were very little options and no price tags on the items until you payed for something or asked. When we tried to take a nap we couldn’t because of the loud bangs and hammers from the renovations, there went on until 6 pm. When we finally went to bed after some time in the hot tub we were very surprised at the black out shades that let us sleep right until the renovations started at 8 am. Overall we had a pretty good stay here (considering the renovations) I would recommend coming here especially if you are trying to find a good hotel in Alamogordo.

  This may be an older hotel, but the hospitality here outshined everything. From the moment I walked in to the hotel for check-in, Journey was amazing and super friendly. I watched her interact with a family that did not speak English and it amazed me to watch her try to help this family even with the language barrier. She did not even hesitate to utilize a translator app to assist this family and that is something you do not see every day. She also informed me and that family about the free sleds/wax provided to patrons to use at White Sand National Park, which is AWESOME as the visitor center was charging to rent these items. This hotel also really takes care of their members and offers great welcome amenities for their Platinum and Diamond members, so thanks for that. The cookies were also an added bonus and they were delicious! Overall, this location was great for someone visiting the national park as it is only about 15 minutes away and there were also many restaurants close by. The beds were comfy and the rooms were spacious. I will definitely be back to this hotel if I am in the area in the future.
