Booked a room here via priceline and was tricked into paying $20 more for parking. Not advertised anywhere conspicuously. Very poor policy for guests not to park for free. Also came to the room and it was freezing. Asked front desk for an extra blanket and got the reply that housekeeping was closed until 6am. Hard to believe they couldn't get an extra blanket. Very poor customer service. No microwave in room either, and very stingy with towels. Not worth the price.

The room was acceptable. That's it. The hallway had a bin full of dirty, bloody sheets left overnight by staff. The room across the hall was a party room that was way too loud for 1am. The lobby had a party that was at least 300 people, I repeat because there has to be fire codes in NJ, at least 300 people that overflowed the lobby and the parking lot. 1:30 am and there was no security to assist with crowd control. 1:30 am and the staff was unbothered that the guests were complaining about the noise. 1:30 am and Irvin in charge was ridiculously sarcastic and dismissive. Inhospitable incarnate. I can't hear Irvin over the noise volume and he doesn't seem to understand that any contracted use of indoor space has parameters control exactly what was going on in that lobby that night. Irvin's response when I took photos of the hotel's posted quiet hours was to ask me if I could hear the party on the ninth floor. What a bad Representative of Holiday Inn and IHG brands. When I asked for the General Manager's contact information, Irvin advised they do not give it out and he does not make the rules. When I started filming and advised I was going to call the fire department, Irvin then realized I was serious and moved to speak to someone in the party about closing the door to the conference room. He did nothing to address the overcrowded lobby and parking lot. He advised me to contact customer service. I would not stay at IHG properties over 70 times each year if this was the norm. Irvin needs to be trained or replaced. He failed miserably to manage the property and provide the experience that hotel guests paid for. He never apologized, he never accommodated. Just made excuses and sarcastic dribbling. You missed the mark this time Holiday Inn. Irvin told me to contact corporate if I wasn't happy. I wasn't and I will.

We had a wonderful breakfast experience at Holiday Inn Newark International Airport. The buffet had a great variety of options, including fresh fruits, eggs, potatoes, sausages, pancakes, yogurt, cereal, juice, and coffee. Everything was fresh, tasty, and nicely presented.
The breakfast was filling and had something for everyone. We especially appreciated the variety and quality of the food, along with the comfortable dining atmosphere. A great way to start the day!
Highly recommended for a convenient and satisfying breakfast during your stay at Holiday Inn Newark International Airport.

We had a wonderful stay at the Holiday Inn Newark. We used it during our positioning flight and couldn’t have been happier. Anna, at the check in counter, was wonderful to chat with. Everyone was so kind and courteous. The room was spacious and clean. We ate at the restaurant for dinner and then again for breakfast and the food was very good. I’m a picky eater and had no issues finding something. Everyone on staff was so helpful. We absolutely will be back.

I stayed here as part of a conference. The room was surprisingly spacious for being in such an urban location. The beds were very comfortable. The rooms appeared to have been renovated, so there were a few things that were a little bit off which is typical after a renovation. The AC was a bit loud. The housekeeping was exellent (5 stars). The front desk did fine at checking in and out, but I was staying here with a roommate and we needed to split the bill. I am an IHG card holder with platinum elite status, and I was hoping to get points for at least half of the stay, but the front desk was unable to split the bill for us on any combination of credit cards. My roommate and I have both been able to split bills in the past at other hotels. Also, there seemed to be issues with parking for several hotel guests. The location is a solid 3 stars. There is a prison on one side and a more upscale hotel on the other side. There is a single public bus line that does connect with the rest of Newark, but the best way to connect with public transit is to take the airport shuttle back to the airport and connect there. There was an overpriced coffee bar and restaurant on premises but no other food options.
