  We had a short stay of just one night, but the hotel was pleasant. The staff was professional and courteous. It’s a great place to explore New Jersey and New York City.

  Today is our second day of vacation in New York and we stay here in Jersey City and the Holiday Inn Express is very clean good service good breakfast and inside the bedroom beats everything is clean. I’m so happy we found very beautiful place like this.. keep up the good work holiday in express. Like this place always brings back the memories and customers. Thank you for your service.

  Location is great for what we needed to do but the room condition overall wasn’t great. Bathtub is very slippery and there is no mat (I asked). Railroad track right next to hotel so can get rather noisy. Breakfast is below average for a Holiday Inn Express. No individual milk carton and only two juice options. It was more affordable than other hotels around, however. And great location for what we needed to do.

  I paid a security deposit that has not been refunded. I was told at the time of check in that the security deposit would be returned at check out. It has been a week now and I still have not received my security deposit. I have called the hotel and have spoken with a few of their front desk employees who seem to give me the run-around. I have called their call center and I was told someone would reach out to me, which someone did by email but only to provide me with a generic response. The hotel room was left clean with no damages made to the room, so what is the hold up? I have stayed in other hotels when traveling and my security deposit gets refunded the same day. Why is this hotel attempting to not return my security deposit? It is frustrating because I shouldn't have to jump through hoops to get my money back! I plan on disputing this with my bank if my security deposit isn't refunded by the end of the week. I recommend finding another place to stay, unless you want to deal with the hassle of chasing for your money back.

  Do not stay here. Room 504 air conditioning does not work. My attempt to get a different room or have it addressed was unsuccessful by staff. And yes I did wait to see if the temperature would go down but there was clearly something wrong with the wall unit. Sleeping in the hallway would have been cooler. It was past midnight and too late to find another hotel so I was stuck here. You should also realize there is a train track right behind the hotel and a USPS fulfillment center with bright lights in the parking lot. If noise and lack of darkening shades don’t bother you then this might be a fit for you. Sadly, I do not recommend.
