This was our first stay at a Candlewood and it was such a good experience. The hotel was clean, quiet, and staff was super friendly. They have a well equipped gym and FREE laundry!! I really like the concept of these hotels, it's a no frills, basic hotel which keeps the cost down.
Oh and special shout out to Kira! She was so friendly and helpful.

We stayed here for 4 nights while visiting the Theodore Roosevelt National Park.
The hotel has a large parking lot, but it does get quite full after dinner each night. It also doesn't make sense for there to be 6 diamond elite spaces reserved in the front of the hotel, as most IHG Diamond Elite members wouldn't be staying at a Candlewood Suites and those spaces sat empty most nights.
The lobby and hallways were very clean and well maintained. The entire property seemed to be well cared for. The staff did a great job, but weren't very outgoing. They were friendly, but they didn't really speak to you unless you spoke to them first. That seems to be typical for this area of North Dakota.
The room was very clean and it had plenty of space for us. The work space/desk area was quite large and gave us plenty of room for our belongings. The closet was quite large as well. The room has a partial kitchen, and there were additional kitchen items that you could borrow from the front desk if needed. The bed was just okay, as it had a few lumps in it and will likely need to be replaced sooner than later. The bathroom was very large with high ceilings an a large shower that had exceptional water pressure.
The hotel provides no-charge laundry machines that did a great job washing and drying our clothes. It's a nice touch that there's a laundry basket in each room. The excercise room was well stocked with equipment that seemed to be in good working order as well. They have a self-checkout market which had a great selection of food, beverage and other items that one might need while staying an an extended-stay type hotel. The prices were higher than at a traditional store, but not overly so.
One complaint was that there were two of us staying for 4 nights and they only provided two bath towels, two wash cloths, two hand towels, and then two forks, two knives, two spoons, two plates, two bowls, two cups etc. The room has a dishwasher but they only provide one dishwasher soap packet for your entire stay (you can purchase more if you want). Luckily they do provide dish soap so you can hand wash your dishes after each meal. Also, we had to take the towels to the front desk ourselves to exchange them and we had to empty our own trash in waste cans at the end of each hall since housekeeping is only weekly. Not that big a deal, but other hotels provide these services and they are available at a similar price point.
The other thing to note is to make sure you are not staying on the first floor near the front desk. Our room was directly behind the front desk and you could hear the office door opening and closing multiple times through the night, and sometimes you could hear the front desk phone in our room. That room is also near the entrance to the parking lot, so lots of headlights shine around the curtains at night.
All in all, it's not a bad place to stay while visiting the National Park or if you have business in the area.
