- SCStacy CholulaJul 28, 20262.0I wanted to share my disappointment in the service I received at this hotel. I will start by saying I travel for business and stay in IHG hotels an average of 6-7 nights per month. I had a trip planned for one night to Raleigh last week. The National Weather Service out of Raleigh issued a Severe Thunderstorm and Flood Warning for Wake County that day effective until midnight, advising not to travel in this area. I contacted the hotel early in the day to let them know I would not be coming due to this warning and asked to either cancel my reservation or to even transfer it to a different date in lieu of losing the money when traveling was not advisable. I have never cancelled a reservation in the past and did not cancel just because I changed my mind. I needed to cancel for safety reasons. There was not a manager on duty at all. Therefore, I contacted IHG guest relations and they left a message for the manager. I received a call back two days later from the manager saying there was nothing they could do and that I was charged for the day as a "no show". Considering this is a participating IHG hotel, and I am a platnium elite member, I would have thought my ongoing business relationship would have been more important than the $154 they made. Business owner to business owner...take care of those who patronize your establishment. Those relationships are the heart of successful business.
