  Three nights. Three nights of being jolted awake by slamming doors: 4:20 AM, 3:00 AM, and 2:45 AM. Apparently a full night’s sleep is too much to expect from a hotel. Maintenance needs to fix these doors so they close without slamming. I’ve complained, but nothing has changed. The staff is friendly enough, but a pleasant conversation doesn’t fix the problem or give me back the sleep I’ve lost. The property is dated and poorly refurbished. No breakfast, and a painfully slow coffee machine that produces lousy coffee. I can live without breakfast and tolerate dated decor. What I can’t tolerate is paying for a room where I repeatedly can’t sleep because a maintenance problem goes unresolved after complaints. If you’re booking a hotel to actually get some rest, look elsewhere. Management Fix the damn doors.

  Stayed here for 1 night to see some family. Very clean room. The bed was exceptionally comfortable. It was a very nice hotel. The small kitchenette was very clean. The front desk and cleaning ladies were very professional and nice. It was very quiet. There were ZERO bugs that I saw. I will definitely stay here when visiting New Bern, NC from now on!

  Couldn’t sleep most of the night. Every hour or so there’s a buzz in our room from what sounds like a washing machine finishing. Wakes us up all night. Sheets were stained and dirty. Wouldn’t recommend

  Walked into my room one day to stepping on a huge cockroach, my room keys would deactivate the moment i walked out, the room itself smelled stale when I initially walked in, and the mattress and duvet had stains. The laundry room is free if you want to use dirty washers. I cleaned one out with clorox wipes before use because it looks as if they never wiped them down ever. If it wasn't for the fact that I was there for business, I would not have stayed as long as I did. I still ended up leaving early because the roach was the last straw. Some of the staff was very very welcoming but the definitely need more cleaning staff or better cleaning staff.

  We were informed that we were responsible for coming to the front desk to obtain our own towels. In addition, the toilet in our room is not functioning properly. Rather than having maintenance come to the room to address the problem, we were instructed to come to the front desk and get a plunger ourselves. This is not an acceptable level of service for a hotel stay. Guests should not be expected to troubleshoot or repair a malfunctioning toilet, nor should they have to repeatedly go to the front desk to obtain basic necessities such as towels. We paid for a hotel room with the reasonable expectation that it would be clean, functional, and properly maintained, with staff available to address maintenance issues. Being handed a plunger and expected to resolve a plumbing problem ourselves is particularly concerning and does not reflect the level of hospitality and service I would expect from an IHG property.
