  Breakfast (1-Star) is sub-standard from experience at other Holiday Inn Express stays, lacks overall breakfast area quality control, maintenance and inventory control. 1. Pancake machine inoperable, no alternative for pancakes (expectation when staying at Holiday Inn Express), particularly for children breakfast options. 2. No yogurts (another expected option). 3. Sausage and pre-made omelets were cold/lukewarm at best. Separately, there were strands of hair in the bathtub; appeared was not cleaned/sanitized from previous occupants (health/safety). Hallway noise is very loud, but understand likely out of facility control. Room service. Towels replaced, 1 of 2 trash cans cleaned out, bed not re-made. This may be policy, i.e. light daily room type service - not a showstopper (just observation) and potential expectation for future clients. Check in personnel were kind and proficient. Overall, minus bath/shower, rooms were updated and appeared cleaned. Location is good, short walk to the beach.

  My girlfriends and I stayed here over the weekend and really had a great experience. The rooms smelled and looked clean, the staff was so pleasant and attentive. I've had better hotel breakfasts but there wasn't anything terrible about it. I would love to see more Gluten Free options in hotels, but that is a personal opinion. Great restaurants all within walking distance, the beach was a tiny walk but nothing unbearable. Would definitely stay here again! I would like to shoutout Emily from the front desk, she was so sweet and always had a pleasant attitude when we needed anything.

  This hotel was quite a weird experience. Upon check-in, we were told our room number and how to get there. But, when we received our keys, the room assignment and the directions to the room was different. 🤔 When we inquired about the change, the front desk agent said, "Oh no! I gave you keys to a room that's already occupied." Then, she gave us different keys, had to call the room to see if anyone was actually in the other room, and told us to just knock loudly and wait, in case someone was already occupying the room. 🤯 I have NEVER felt so uncomfortable and unsafe going to and staying in a hotel room in all my life. Some other aspects were also really odd, such as, the bathroom fan switch is in the room hallway by the door. The shower pressure is so crazy low that I'm sure half of the shampoo is still in my hair even after 30 minutes of rinsing. 🙄 The room doors don't close tightly, so the door rattles, and the walls are paper thin. This experience will make me think twice before booking an IHG hotel again.

  My family and I stayed at this hotel for a week. Overall, the room was great, and we really enjoyed the breakfast. However, we were very disappointed with the housekeeping service. For the first three days, we kept the “Do Not Disturb” sign on our door because we didn’t need the room cleaned. After that, we removed the sign, expecting housekeeping to clean the room. By then, we had already run out of clean towels and toiletries. Unfortunately, no one came to clean the room. When we returned in the evening, it was in exactly the same condition as we had left it, even though the other rooms on our floor had been serviced. We spoke to the front desk and at least asked for clean towels. The next day, the same thing happened again—our room was still not cleaned. Another major downside was the Wi-Fi. The internet connection was extremely poor and unreliable, making it difficult to use even for basic tasks. It’s disappointing to see guests treated this way. Other than the housekeeping issue and the terrible Wi-Fi, our stay was pleasant. The room itself was comfortable, and the breakfast was excellent.

  We stayed at this location for 3 nights. The hotel room itself was very nice. It was clean for the most part, there was a crusty rag in the shower arrival but was taken care of the next day. The staff was very nice and helped us with an issue we had with our key card on the second night. The location is in a decent spot. It’s located right outside of some attractions, and only a few minutes walk from a beach entrance. Where this location loses stars is price and amenity cleanliness. The pool is smaller than the pictures allude to and not the most clean, and the free breakfast had some moldy food. The pool wall was just a little dirty looking, but the water was clean. And while the free breakfast was nice, we found a few items that were contaminated with fuzzy green mold. Overall, if you’re looking for “budget” hotel in the Outer Banks, I’d recommend.
