  Heavy repurposed doors from 1940s bomb shelters slamming at 1 am, combined with garbage trucks shaking & dropping trash bins outside your window M/W/F at 4:45 AM, with the cherry on top of hot rod week and apparently every hot rod owner staying here, results in a unholy mix of sleep deprivation. No, I don't recommend this hotel. If you're staying here, bring your noise cancelling headphones and pray to the sleep gods. I previously stayed down the road at the Towneplace Suites in Kill Devil Hills and dealt with none of this never ending noisy nonsense.

  Ms Kathy was warm and friendly at my check-in. The hotel staff (HK) Ms. Pam and her 2nd floor coworkers were awesome and very helpful during my stay. I love the hotels proximity to everything you want to visit especially the beach.

  My stay at Holiday Inn Express Kitty Hawk was exactly what a spontaneous “let’s get out of the house” trip needed. The hotel is a bit dated, but honestly, I’ll take clean over trendy any day and this place was very clean. That alone earns points. The staff were genuinely kind and welcoming. One woman at the front desk had us laughing like we’d known her for years, and I wish I could remember her name because she deserves a shoutout. The room was solid. No mystery smells, which is always a win. The AC had two personalities, arctic tundra or tropical vacation, with no real middle ground, but it got the job done. The beds were soft enough that I actually slept through the night, which is rare for me in hotels. Breakfast was… present. It’ll get you started, but I’d skip the eggs unless you’re feeling adventurous. They had a strong “just add water and hope for the best” energy. The location is a quiet win. You can walk to a few decent restaurants, which makes life easier when you’re trying to stay in vacation mode and not think too hard. Overall, I genuinely enjoyed my stay and would absolutely come back. It’s not fancy, but it’s clean, comfortable, and staffed by people who make you feel welcome and sometimes that’s exactly what you need.

  Very clean and well kept. We arrived quite late, around 10pm. And were not greeted at all for several minutes while standing at the desk listening to two employees have a leisurely chat. Price was reasonable comparatively. This was a one night stop for us as we were continuing on south. The breakfast was quite nice, had a bit of everything.
