My family and I stayed at this hotel for 8 days, and unfortunately, we ended up checking out early because of the overall experience.
What makes this especially disappointing is that we’ve stayed at this property before and had a much better experience. This time was completely different.
When we checked in, Bryan simply handed us the room keys and sent us on our way. There was no explanation of housekeeping services, hotel policies, or anything else we should know about our stay. Once we got to the room, we immediately noticed an unpleasant smell and felt that the room was noticeably smaller than the room we had during our previous stay. When we brought these concerns up, we were told that all the rooms are the same size and smell the same. Whether that is true or not, the response felt dismissive and did not address our concerns.
During our stay, we ran out of shampoo, conditioner, and body wash. We also had a clogged toilet and were given a plunger by the front desk. We were specifically told that housekeeping would replenish the bathroom supplies and pick up the plunger the following day.
When we returned to the room that evening, neither had been done. Fresh towels had been left in the room, so it was obvious that housekeeping had entered. In fact, the fresh towels were placed right next to the empty shampoo, conditioner, and body wash bottles, yet none of those items were refilled or replaced and the empty bottle were left there. The plunger was also still sitting in the bathroom exactly where we had left it. We also needed additional toilet paper, which was not provided nor replaced the current one. It was frustrating because we had already informed the hotel of these issues and were told they would be taken care of.
When we tried to get answers from Jason at the front desk, his response was repeatedly that he works the night shift and didn’t know. I understand that not everyone has all the answers, but as a guest, it’s frustrating when you’re looking for help and feel like you’re getting passed around instead of getting a solution.
I do want to recognize the Assistant Manager, who was kind, professional, and genuinely apologetic. She listened to our concerns and agreed that the situation was not handled appropriately. We appreciated her taking the time to hear us out and address the issues.
At the end of the day, we spent over $1,500 on this stay. No hotel is perfect, and mistakes happen, but what was most frustrating was the lack of communication, follow-through, and attention to guest concerns. After 8 days, we simply felt it was best to leave early.
I don’t usually leave negative reviews, but I hope management takes this feedback seriously because better communication, attentiveness, and customer service would have made a huge difference in our experience.
