    If you could rate lower we should and I hate to say that. The majority of these photos are stock photos or AI photos. You have no idea where the front entrance is and the foyer once you walk in it s a mini maze, completely unwelcoming.

    Where do I begin? I checked in on Saturday afternoon excited about my Mother’s Day stay. I had my three children with me, and upon entering the hotel, I immediately noticed fingerprints all over the entrance doors. It just didn’t give the clean first impression I expected. Once we got to our room, at first glance it seemed okay — the bed was made and the sheets were white — but as I began to look around, I noticed dirt stains and blotches on the chairs, couch, and recliner. I also tried to cook a simple meal for my children using the stovetop, but neither burner would get hot enough to properly boil noodles, so I had to improvise and use the microwave instead. The most concerning part was the carpet. After a few hours of my younger children walking and playing around the room, I noticed the bottom of my daughter’s feet were extremely dirty — almost black. I then checked my boys’ feet, and theirs were the same. When I looked at my own feet, they also had dark, soiled spots on them. It felt like we were walking on a dirty, damp carpet. I was honestly shocked. Even after showering, my feet became dirty again shortly after walking around the room. I also did not feel comfortable letting my daughter lay against the recliner without covering it because of how dirty the furniture appeared. I did speak with the front desk, and the gentleman was very kind and allowed me a little extra time, which I appreciated. The staff was friendly, and we tried to make the best of our stay, but I was still very disappointed in the cleanliness of the room. Another issue was the dust. When I went to adjust the blinds, dust fell into my eye. After looking at other reviews, I noticed several people mentioned similar concerns about the hotel being dusty and dirty. Because of the location — Lake Norman / Huntersville / Birkdale area — I expected a much higher standard of cleanliness and overall quality. I don’t usually take the time to leave detailed reviews, but I felt this one was necessary because I would truly love to see this property improve. I do have pictures and videos showing the condition of the room and the dirt on our feet. The staff was kind, but the cleanliness needs serious attention.

    If you want a hotel that gives you that warm, at‑home feeling, this is the perfect place. You can cook your own food, keep your snacks stocked, and really make the space your own. There’s a nice gym, a super convenient mini‑store, and even a fun lending box full of games and useful extras. I enjoyed my stay so much — I’ll definitely be returning for another week.

    I’ve stayed at a lot of Candlewood locations, and this is easily one of the worst experiences I’ve had. The property feels poorly maintained—everything seems to be falling apart. My room door had to be lifted and slammed just to close properly, the dishwasher flooded, and the bathroom fan was so loud it sounded like a jet engine. On top of that, there was constant noise throughout the night from footsteps, and the room had a strong grease odor that made it uncomfortable to stay in. I reported these issues to the front desk, but nothing was addressed, which was frustrating. The only positive I can mention is that there was a well-seasoned cast iron pan in the room—likely left behind by a previous guest. Overall, not a stay I’d recommend.

    After reading reviews I now understand that the owner will not change and make his property better. Do NOT stay here, it is super gross. All the other reviews say the same thing I experienced. Smells like weed, and the rooms are in terrible condition. I had a reasonable fear that I was going to fall through the shower!! The bathroom exhaust fan didn’t work and It was super dirty, and I just don’t know how the owners sleep at night. On this I am going above just a review.. I’m calling the company. They should remove their brand. This place doesn’t even live up to motel 6 basic standards.
