When we arrived at the hotel, the room was very musty and humid, so much so that the sheets felt wet. It was like we could smell the last 12 people in the room, even though there was an air purifier in the room. There was also a solid line of light coming through under the base of the door. After a few hours we discovered the humidifier, which eventually brought the humidity down from above 80% to 60%, which is still higher than than average. Unfortunately, the humidifier filled up every 5 hours and automatically shut off, and then we had to empty the bucket full of water. The effort we had to put in definitely created a value gap, especially considering the premium we paid for going the week of July 4th. My husband informed the manager of the problem. The manager apologized and offered a free pastry... We didn't try the pastry, but I don't think it would have made our stay more comfortable!
Otherwise, this is a fun little renovated retro hotel. The view is beautiful and the hotel feels remote but is still close to downtown Highlands. The rooms are simple, but sufficient. Some small upgrades would be really nice: a microwave, hooks on the walls near the sink for towels or other personal items. I loved the heated bathroom floor.
The personnel that we interacted with in the little shop for check-in, coffee, and check out, were all very kind and professional.
Awesome experience for our daughter's wedding. From the cozy rooms to the great food. But even more so the staff. They worked overtime to give all of us and our guests and amazing experience.

Every day we are there, we smelled sewage gas, so it was difficult to use our patio, which we specifically got to overlook the woods. When we spoke to the manager, he said that there is a home development nearby that has to vent there septic systems every once in a while however, during our visit, this occurred every single day.

Skyline Lodge is one of our favorite places to stay in Highlands. Every visit has the same laid-back, welcoming feel that keeps us coming back. The atmosphere is relaxed, unpretentious, and exactly what you want for a mountain getaway.
We especially appreciate the chill vibe throughout the property. Whether you’re enjoying a drink, relaxing by the fire, or just taking in the mountain surroundings, there’s a sense that you’re encouraged to slow down and enjoy the moment. The staff is friendly, the accommodations are comfortable, and the overall experience feels effortless.
If you’re looking for a place that captures the relaxed spirit of Highlands without being overly formal, Skyline Lodge is tough to beat. We always enjoy our stay and look forward to coming back.

My daughter and I did not have a good experience at skyline. We were charged over $500 per night for a simple room. That is not what I was quoted although there may have been service charges that I did not consider carefully.
I was told the room would have a beautiful view, but it was a road and an umimpressive wall of trees. No actual view. No reason to go up the mountain to see that. There was no maid service other than an emptying of garbage cans.
The front desk, did not know which portion of the hotel was open and told us the beautiful outdoor bar was closed. We found it by chance. We enjoyed some appetizers there--good but super expensive and then went to the onsite oak steak house. Lovely room and service--inedible food.
I did try to share my concerns with the hotel management directly via email and got no reply.
