Very Disappointing Experience – Holiday Inn Greenville, NC I am extremely disappointed with my experience at this Holiday Inn. I was traveling with a church group and had been on the road for over 10 hours, so when we finally arrived, all we wanted was to check in and get some rest. The first room they gave me was already occupied by another guest. That alone is a serious concern and should never happen. I went back downstairs and was given a second room, which was dirty and not properly prepared Then I was given another room that had only one bed even though I specifically reserved a room with two queen beds Another room we were supposed to receive was still being cleaned. After being moved around multiple times, I finally received the room I had actually reserved. What made this even more frustrating was that I was traveling as part of a church group that had arranged accommodations with this hotel in advance. After more than 10 hours of traveling, having to go from room to room because of mistakes that should have been caught before check-in was exhausting and unacceptable. The biggest concern for me is being given a key to a room that was already occupied. That is not only inconvenient—it raises a serious guest privacy and security concern. I expected much better organization, cleanliness, and service from a Holiday Inn. Unfortunately, this was a very disappointing way to begin our stay.

I seldom leave reviews this bad, but this entire stay was a mess. First, the email I was sent for our stay, had the wrong address, then when we finally found the place, our room type wasn't correct. After a 10+ hour travel day, I just accepted it, but it only got worse. The pool had broken equipment & was filthy, breakfast the second day was very sparce & not being refilled well before 9am, when it stops at 10am. They seem to have charged my credit card 2x, which Im still trying to figure out. The building severely lacks sound proofing, and we could hear every single person in the hallways. The elevators and common areas consistently had dirty spots on the floor that needed cleaning. The worst part was the last day. I woke up sick & we let them know we would be a bit late checking out as a result. In the 22 minutes extra it took us, we had 2 maids bang on the door nonstop until one of us could get to it. Then a 3rd person didn't even bother to knock, just tried to open it with a master key. Legally they have to announce themselves before they try the door. We were given (rudely given, but given) permission to stay an extra 30 minutes due to my sickness, so why no one told the maids is beyond me. Its horrible to be sick in a hotel room, but to have 3 separate people trying to shove you out within a 5 minute time span (well before our cutoff time) when you've been told you can stay is just plain bad business. The one very positive thing here is the beds were very comfortable, thus the 2 stars. I travel so often & I only use Holiday Inn.... this one is definitely making me rethink my loyalty to the brand. Ill email corporate too, but travelers should think twice before booking here.

We have stayed at this location several times when we visit our daughter and her family. It’s a great location, staff are courteous, everything is clean and the breakfast is a plus. Definitely recommend if you’re staying in Greenville.

The main reason I’m leaving this review is the complete lack of common sense and customer service I experienced at breakfast. I had an appointment at 7:00 a.m., so I was leaving the hotel at 5:52 a.m. The breakfast area was already fully set up, with the food sitting out and ready for guests. I went to grab a cinnamon bun for the road, and an angry older employee immediately stopped me and told me I could not take one until 6:00. I explained that if I waited until 6:00, I would be late, and asked why I couldn’t take one item five minutes early when the food was already sitting there on the buffet. She was completely unreceptive, as if the idea of customer service had never crossed her mind. So apparently, if I wanted to partake in the breakfast that was already set out for guests, I had to stand there and stare at it for five minutes first. Also, since I'malready here typing, the room cleanliness was not great. There was hair all around the bathroom sink, like someone had shaved and housekeeping simply didn’t clean it. The EV chargers were all broken, and the employees seemed clueless about them. Honestly, it would be better not to advertise or offer EV chargers at all if the hotel isn’t going to maintain them or at least inform staff about their status. Overall, this was a disappointing stay. A hotel doesn’t have to be perfect, but basic cleanliness, working advertised amenities, and a little bit of reasonable customer service should not be too much to ask. The next night I stayed at a different holiday inn, and they left the non-cooked items in the breakfast buffet available all day. So I know it wasn't a holiday inn policy that kept them from letting guests eat the breakfast buffet.
