Warning: Shady billing and intentional double charges
Be very careful with your credit card statements at this hotel. I prepaid in full months ago for my stay from May 8 to May 11, 2026. Despite this, they charged me a second time by suspiciously breaking the amount into two separate transactions around my stay: one for on May 9 and another for on May 12.
The most alarming part was dealing with customer service. They completely ignored my online request submission. When I finally called this morning, the hotel manager initially planned to only refund the May 9 charge, falsely claiming the May 12 charge was for "facility use." It was only after I fiercely insisted that I had already prepaid everything—and pointed out the undeniable fact that these two new charges added up exactly to my original booking total—that they finally backed down and agreed to issue a full refund.
This felt less like an honest oversight and more like a calculated attempt to double-dip and see what they could get away with. Check your statements carefully if you stay here.

Had a really great experience at Millennium Hotel Durham, and a big reason was Cecilia at the front desk. She was so welcoming, professional, and genuinely kind from the moment I arrived. Check-in was smooth, she answered all my questions, and made everything feel easy. She has such a positive attitude and really made me feel taken care of during my stay. The lobby was clean and inviting, and the location was convenient. Great customer service like that really stands out—Millennium is lucky to have her!

Aside from the proximity to most of the local universities, I would NOT stay here!!!! We were greeted by a very nice lady who offered a rock hard burned cookie, as if they were Doubletree…it was more like “RubbleTree.” The curtains in my room had holes in them, stains on the wall, and a biohazard looking substance on the desk chair. Cobwebs on furniture so no dusting done. I sprayed everything with Lysol and put towels down where I would be sitting. Since it was graduation weekend, I couldn’t leave to book another place. And to think that this hotel was on the Delta app?!?! Shame on Delta Airlines!!! The only good thing was that the water got hot and the shower pressure was good. The people were nice, but the hotel is dated, dirty and in need of a LOT. Also, the room has that “adjacent door,” that connect your room to another.

Walk in to the most beautiful hotel I have ever seen. Genuinely awestruck by the grandeur of this place. We are 20 mins early. Check-in is at three. Except our room wasn't ready. Finally, after the third time of them offering us a different room with two smaller beds, rather than the one with a king sized bed like we booked, we took the offer. After doing so, we found our room to be in the literal furthest corner of the hotel that they could place us. Keep in mind, this is after a medical procedure had just been completed. We get off the elevator on our floor and you can smell the wet garbage, immediately. Just so happened to be coming from a trash can that is next to the only working microwave on the floor.
Also fairly certain a couple of homeless people were living in the stairwell by that trash can - they were charging their phones next to the microwave and had been hanging out in the stairwell for at least 4-5 hours that night.

The good:
Cheap pricing
Decently clean rooms current to 2014-2017 decor
Close to duke and many events
Ample free parking
Door has extra locks which is great because the latch is a little bit questionable
The bad:
There was a car show and or a motorcycle show and or family reunion going on inside and outside in that parking lot and there was no way around it
The rooms could be a bit cleaner as could be the common areas
The bathroom door has a sliding barn door setup which drove my partner nuts as it isn’t a sealed door but it has an odd little closet thing that you enter the bathroom through.
First hotel I’ve ever seen (Hilton gold familiar with double tree, Hampton inn, Hilton garden inn) that’s been stingy with towels, pillows, or toilet paper I had to ask on at least one occasion
If you book through a third-party like I did, there’s a destination fee and the hotel staff make it sound like it’s from them, but it really is from the hotel but they should just build that into their fee and just stop the blame game
There’s a refrigerator in the room, but there’s no microwave
There’s also no way to have a do not disturb sign and you will get housekeeping whether you want it or not
Don’t look too close at some of the scrapes and stains-the photos were probably when this place was new
