  Stayed at this hotel for a weekend event. I appreciated the early registration/check in option before arrival to cut down on time checking in. Night #1 - after attending a party, we came back to the room and the shower head did not work. We called front desk MANY TIMES and no answer, only a voicemail. In the morning we woke up to a sink full of ants. Went downstairs and requested a new room. Front desk rep advise manager Andrea offered a room discount for the issue and moved us to a new room. VERY APPRECIATIVE OF RESPONSE TO REQUESTS. 2nd room was adequate. At checkout advised several times that Andrea was the only person who could apply discount. After calling many times, leaving many callback requests for 3 days, we still have not heard from the manager Andrea to check us out and provide a receipt for our stay. But the full hold is still on my credit card.

  I don't understand the negative reviews. I found the staff to be friendly and helpful. It's not a new hotel, but I found it to be clean and well stocked. I saw absolutely no signs of any kind that there were any bugs of any kind. The restroom was nice and large with more than enough towels. The barn doors worked exactly like they were supposed to. I would definitely stay there again and recommend it to friends looking for a place to stay in Durham.

  I booked with Expedia for a business trip to Duke. They do not have a voicemail. They do not pick up up. It’s been three days. I cannot check in. Expedia cannot help me. They do not pick up. I have been driving from Illinois and I had to stop in VA and move meetings. I finally got the phone and they put me on hold. Duke people, avoid. Never go here. I cannot believe Expedia hosts them. Cancelling has been “The Trial”

  We stayed 4 nights at the Millennium Hotel Durham and unfortunately had several issues. Housekeeping cleaned our room but failed to replace our towels one day. More concerning, our room door was left partially open after housekeeping. The door did not close completely on its own unless it was manually pulled shut, so our room was left unsecured. On our final morning in Room 148, my wife and I found a cockroach running across the floor. We killed it and have a photo. We reported it to the front desk before leaving and also submitted a complaint through Millennium Hotels afterward. As of the date of this review, it has been 11 days since I submitted the complaint and I have received no response or follow-up from management. The combination of the housekeeping issues, our room being left unsecured, the cockroach, and the lack of response afterward made this a very disappointing stay.

  Unsure why this place gets so much hate. We had such a nice stay! The building is so pretty. The beds were so comfortable and not too firm which was nice. The pillows were nicer than your average hotel pillows. The rooms are very big, and the AC worked fantastic. Yes, it's dated as some people say, but to us that's a plus. I'm so tired of gray and white sterile hotels. This place has character! Warm colors and pretty decor. And the staff were the nicest I've encountered in a long time. I feel like the people coming here are expecting high class luxury. To me, if you want that, go spend 900 bucks a night somewhere else, and stop complaining when you don't get that here. This is a normal hotel that's got a lot of charm for a great price (was under $100 a night for us). It's not your Michelin star location, but it is above average. There's a pool, large seating areas, large comfortable rooms, and incredibly close to downtown. And checkout was at 12pm! Loved that so we could sleep in. I really don't have anything bad to say about this place, it's just so charming.
