  This hotel is by far the best I have ever stayed at. Every employee I encountered was friendly and spoke. Breakfast was the best I have ever had a a hotel and the breakfast staff was awesome all four days! She volunteered to peel and slice the apple when she heard my child talking about it and another morning one held her baby doll while she ate. My little girl said “that lady made this a five star!” Employees assisted and asked and were always accommodating with a smile. I travel weekly for work and stay at hotels and this is the best experience I have had. Service, cleanliness, friendly, etc. was fantastic.

  "Savannah" from the Holiday Inn Express & Suites Conover (Hickory Area) claimed to be the manager of this location. I have never had an alleged manager be so rude and difficult with guests checking in. I genuinely hope that her attitude was unrelated to my husband's ethnicity. Our company is there to fix roads to improve transportation. Being cruel at 4:30am EST is unacceptable. I hope she's not actually a manager and gets re-trained on proper customer service behavior. These rooms were already paid for and there was no reason for her to start explaining an entire late arrival policy when it had zero impact on the overall room charges. No one needs a policy run down after being on the road for 9 hours. She could have just checked them in and let them get some rest which is the service people pay for at hotels. She was being difficult just to be difficult and didn't even want to give me her name at first. Who knows if it's really Savannah. She got nasty when I asked her for her last name. Considering she works in a position where first and last names are regularly used I really don't see why providing her first or last name was such a huge issue. Not acceptable, and quite possibly the last time I'll be booking an IHG hotel. Extremely disappointed considering IHG hotels are on many military installations and I am a service member who will be retiring shortly.

  Loved the King Suite!! Breakfast was hot and delicious, plenty of parking and best part right off of expressway!!

  This would have been a five star review if not for three things: 1) My room was clean, but the conditioner in the shower was completely out when we arrived. I opted to go green and save on housekeeping and never asked for it to be refilled, but it should have been before we arrived…and there was plenty of time. We did not check in until after 10 pm. 2) there is no coffee in the room. You must go down to the lobby for coffee or tea. 3) the tv is old, can’t stream, difficult to figure out, and pointless. Who is watching cable anymore? It’s all B movies, syndication regurgitation, or infomercials. By far the star of the show at this hotel is Yolanda, the sweet human who made our breakfast each day. They probably don’t pay her enough if you ask me.
