Our stay at Play to Stay was a nightmare. On our first night, five cars were broken into, leaving us with sleepless nights. The staff was completely unresponsive, claiming it was a police issue. Where was the customer service for those affected, and where was the security? Apparently, this has happened before, and the staff seemed indifferent. It’s a shame that the GM didn’t help the families impacted by this terrible situation. Many of us with children felt unsafe staying there, and it ruined our entire weekend. The rooms were generally clean, but the bedding was worn out. It’s a shame that Play Stay put us in an unsafe area for our girls. We would never recommend this place because it’s simply not safe!
DO NOT PARK AT THIS HOTEL. Multiple cars broken in weekly. Front desk is aware, and they accept no accountability. We had four people's cars broken into this past weekend. The police said they're called out just about weekly. A contractor who stays there periodically said the same thing. Front desk acknowledged this as well. Pretty much their only response is that they could not comp us a night for our troubles. I did not even ask for a free night. That was just the response I received from two of the managers. There has to be some accountability somewhere from this hotel. You can't knowingly have guests park at your property without some sort of deterrence or warning. It seems that the only thing that the managers are worried about is making sure that you sign the waiver saying that they're not responsible for damaged or stolen items. No warning that this is a high crime area for break-ins.
It's almost like the front desk is in on the operation. There's a security guard, and obviously he's not worth a shit. One of the other parents said he had to wake up the security guard, who was sleeping in his car, upon finding out that his truck was broken into
These break-ins we're not smash and grab. The thieves cut out the backseat window of my truck, and, from the way the inside of my truck looked, they spent a considerable amount of time inside of my truck looking for something valuable to steal. All this time, plus three other cars, and this sorry ass security guard didn't see a thing? Give me a freaking break!
Thankfully I knew this place was shady. Upon driving inside this complex of maybe three or four hotels, there were questionable people walking all around the properties smoking marijuana and looking suspect. I took all my valuables out of my truck and locked up the bed of my truck. I parked in the first row of the parking lot right in the camera's view. I had about 5 or 6 dollars of change stolen and that's it. The window replacement was $400, however, and I have the feeling of be violated because some dirty ass scumbag was rummaging around inside of my truck
Other parents were not as lucky. It's like this hotel is waiting for the next batch of suckers to come in each weekend, so their valuables can get jacked as well. It's unfortunate, because my room was nice. The front desk people were nice too, they just have zero ambition or compassion to help out the victims, or provide ideas to help prevent this from happening to future guests. ZERO. One of the hotels next door has a fence around their property with a automated gate. I bet they didn't have any break-ins this weekend. This hotel chains needs to put up the money to put a security fence around the property and hire a competent security guard. That security guard needs to have his ass fired. If you want to keep your vehicle from getting broken into and vandalized, stay away from this hotel.

Do not stay here if you value your safety or your property. My truck and 4 other trucks was broken into in the hotel parking lot overnight. Which, my daughters entire soccer team was staying here and the back window was completely smashed out, and my vehicle was ransacked. When I brought this to management, both the shift manager and the General Manager showed zero empathy or willingness to assist, completely dismissing the situation by pointing to their “not responsible for theft or damage” signs.
The hotel claims to have on-site security, but the guard spent the night sitting inside their own personal vehicle, completely oblivious to active crimes happening right in the parking lot because he was asleep.
When local police arrived to file the report, the officers explicitly stated that this specific area and property are notorious for vehicle thefts and break-ins—something management clearly knows about yet does nothing to prevent. Not even a warning when checking in.
Management's complete lack of accountability and the illusion of security make this property unsafe. Avoid this hotel at all costs, especially if you are traveling with a vehicle or work equipment.

Outstanding Stay & Unmatched Hospitality
My family and I had an incredible stay at Staybridge Suites Charlotte Airport Area - Tyvola. The property itself is clean, modern, and very well-maintained. The rooms are exceptionally spacious with comfortable beds and a full in-room kitchen, which made a huge difference for our family. Onsite perks like complimentary laundry and a great breakfast spread made our stay smooth and convenient.
What truly makes this property a 5-star experience, however, is the staff. They are kind, professional, and go above and beyond for their guests. When our three kids unexpectedly fell ill during our trip, the team went out of their way to ensure we could extend our stay in the same room without hassle, making sure we had everything we needed while they recovered.
Their genuine care and hospitality mean everything to us. Whenever we visit the Charlotte area, this will be our go-to hotel, and we will definitely be looking out for Staybridge Suites on future trips!

I booked this hotel months in advance for a concert weekend and drove from Raleigh to Charlotte expecting everything to be set. While I was driving to the hotel, I called to confirm there were no issues with my reservation and was told that my room was ready.
When I arrived, I was shocked to be told that my reservation was not available. I explained to the front desk employee that I had just called and had been told my room was ready, and I also pointed out that I never received a phone call or email at any point before my arrival indicating there was a problem with my reservation.
I went back to my car. About 15 minutes later, the front desk employee came out and told me they only had a room available for one night, even though I had originally booked and confirmed a two-night stay.
This was incredibly disappointing and stressful, especially after driving all the way to Charlotte for a concert. At the last minute, I had to find another hotel, which was both inconvenient and unnecessary. I expected much better communication and service, especially since my reservation had been booked months in advance.
