  The hotel met my needs for one night stay. It was convenient to the event I came to Beaufort for. Will choose again. Required no service.

  Great rooms and terrific staff, however, management implements a PARKING EXTORTION if you choose not to pay their valet service. If you choose not to be extorted, then you have to park about a quarter mile from the facility. The fee is $15 but that’s not the point. The facility has a large parking lot right next to the hotel that they reserve for their valet service.

  We checked in late and there was poop or vomit dried to the toilet seat. I attempted to call down but the front desk hung up on me. When I went downstairs to see what the problem was the guy seemed unbothered. The next morning when chloe texted about my room stay we let her know about the toilets uncleanliness and the strong odor of marijuana. She decided to never text us back and then told my husband later that afternoon we had never informed them despite check out being the 3rd time they were informed. The beds felt like springs hitting me in the back and squeaked every time I took too deep of a breath. The floors were sticky. The room smelt of must. Which is sad because we have stayed her twice prior to the NC Eat & Play post and had a much different experience. Ever since NC Eat & play made a post about this establishment service has gone down tremendously. It is not remotely close to downtown Beaufort so save your money and stay somewhere else. The only reason this review is 2 stars is because of a valet named Jah. He is fantastic every time we stay. The 3rd party valet company seems to be the only competent thing about this hotel.

  Our experience at the Beaufort Hotel was extremely upsetting and disappointing. On September 4, my 21-year-old son was physically assaulted by another guest at the hotel bar. The incident was captured on the hotel’s cameras and reviewed by both police and bar management. What disturbed us almost as much as the assault itself was how bar management handled the situation afterward. Bar staff actually advised my son not to call the police, and despite a physical altercation having occurred on the property, no incident report was ever taken from him. After speaking with the other party, no one from bar management came over to speak directly with my son, check on him, or explain what they were doing about the incident. Instead, a bartender was sent over to relay what the other guest had said and to tell my son to stop “harassing” or antagonizing them when he was simply asking what was going to be done after he had been assaulted. My son was extremely upset by the entire situation and was literally in tears later that evening. We were also told there had supposedly been complaints about my son’s behavior toward women at the bar. If bar staff truly believed he had been behaving inappropriately, I do not understand why he was never approached, warned, or asked to leave beforehand. Bringing those allegations up only after he reported being assaulted felt inappropriate and appeared to shift attention away from what had actually happened. The hotel ultimately offered us a $200 discount on a roughly $1,600 bill. While I appreciate that something was offered, that did not come close to addressing how poorly the incident itself was handled or the emotional impact it had on my son and our family. I understand that a hotel cannot control every guest’s behavior. What it can control is how its staff and management respond when a guest is assaulted on the property. I would expect staff to encourage proper reporting, document the incident, check on the guest who was assaulted, and handle the situation impartially and professionally. Instead, we left feeling that my son was treated more like the problem than the person who had just been assaulted. For a hotel of this caliber, I expected significantly better judgment, professionalism, accountability, and concern for guest safety. We were there for his birthday and it ruined our weekend and my son was so emotionally distraught that he couldn’t enjoy himself. I would like to say the front desk staff was very helpful empathetic. There was a younger male staff member with long hair that was especially sweet!

  HUGE DISAPPOINTMENT!!!! My daughters wedding was suppose to be her special day. We have three suites rented for the parties to get ready in and. The two rooms for bridal party have no AC. I started calling around 7:30 and it took three phone calls and myself going to the desk to get anyone’s attention. I was told at the desk maintenance was running around busy and they would get to it. Now it’s 100 plus degrees outside, the room is 77 degrees and 8 woman are trying to get hair and make up on. I am pretty sure a/c during the summer would be an emergency, but the hotel staff doesn’t feel the same way. I had to raise my voice and ask for room fans just to get some relief. I got those close to an hour later. Maintenance finally showed up look in the ceiling. Went and got a ladder. Left the ladder in the room and haven’t come back and it’s now 2 o’clock in the afternoon! I asked for another room. They said they were full for the weekend then I asked if they had a ballroom he said he’d have to look I said never mind, You have done nothing to help me. And proceeded not being nice! I understand things happen, but literally the lack of trying to help us is the entire reason for this review. So my daughter‘s big day has been nothing but heat sweat and an miserable wedding party. Would not recommend this venue with the lack of compassion they have did I mention the fridge in one of the bedrooms didn’t work either. It is 220 now the wedding is at four. Let’s hope nothing else goes wrong, but I don’t have faith in the service. We have been provided so far. Update 11:34 pm: during the reception they did send word through a brides maid. Or At least the way I dound out , they were gonna comp one room and give us another room. Sounds great. We didn’t have total access to either of the two rooms that were connecting because one room was trying to push the AC to the other room so both rooms were above 74° while we were getting ready. The corporate move was to make it look good that they would compensate us one night. They didn’t look at the $34k we paid for the venue. We didn’t do this looking for anything for free. We spent a money on this wedding (if you are booking here know at least another 25k is requires in vendors) and just wanted our daughter and son In law to have a day to remember. We committed to the price and paid it. They lacked any responsibility to make it better because this weekend they had another six weddings to accommodate. Corporate wants to make money year over year, so to blame anyone onsite for this cluster would be misguided. Absolutely don’t feel any better about their last minute comprise, remember I asked for a room and they said they were sold out. There is no money to correct this situation. I tried to respond to the hotels response but I was word limited. I will update/add a review to make sure I am clear clear with all the problems regarding a/c and other appliance repairs Let’s start with you didnt communicate anything with me. A bridesmaid with about an hour left for the reception communicated to me your compromise. This morning I was able to talk to multiple guests and what could have been a fluke is far from it. What I feel. is this venue is a pig with lipstick. Absolutely beautiful and most of the staff amazing, but lack of investing in the product OR lack of capital money for repairs, becomes a customers buyer beware situation.
