The Beaufort Hotel offers the relaxed elegance and heightened Southern hospitality of a waterfront boutique hotel. Located on the North Carolina’s Southern Outer Banks, the hotel offers a unique vacation destination on the Crystal Coast. Nestled on ten acres, the Beaufort Hotel provides the privacy of a resort-style setting on the banks of Taylor’s Creek with expansive water views. The hotel is minutes to Beaufort's historic district, Crystal Coast beaches, Cape Lookout Lighthouse, and Shackleford Banks. Meetings in the ballroom can accommodate up to 350 people. It’s the perfect waterfront wedding venue for 50 to 500 people with our indoor or outdoor space under a tent. 34 Degrees North, our waterfront restaurant features locally inspired Eastern North Carolina cuisine with fresh local seafood, hand cut steaks, and seasonal ingredients. Dine on the outdoor patio, a covered open-air dining space overlooking Rachel Carson Reserve, home to over 30 amazing wild horses.
We love this hotel. Everyone there provides excellent customer service. It’s a beautiful property with tastefully decorated rooms and easy access to food, drinks and downtown.

Do not reserve here. They will literally tell you they will issue a credit for cancellation well in advance, but then keep your entire $287 after the date passes. They will even email you a cancellation confirmation, but then keep your $287. Do not pay any amount in advance, because they will keep it no matter what. They will verbally confirm (twice) that your “credit is in progress and it may take up to 10 business days”, then keep your full $287 so you can’t send a family member to stay in your stead. Probably so they can book the room again.
I wish there was a Zero Star option. Horrible experience with this hotel. I had to cancel my reservation well in advance of the booked date. Two separate Staff said no problem, and that they would credit it back to my card. When it was never credited, I reached out again and they changed their story. They said that it was policy to “keep the advance deposit”, but they wound up keeping the entire $287 total. They obviously wanted to stall long enough to make it difficult with my credit card company. If they didn't actually tell me they were refunding my money, I would have sent my Mother in Law to stay. Two separate employees in two separate conversations assured me that the full refund was “in process”. DO NOT TRUST THEM, DO NOT RESERVE HERE.
Below is another example from a prior bad review with the GM’s response. The GM clearly stating that they have a 48 hour “without penalty” cancellation policy. Which is it Mr. Grills, 48 hours or you keep all prepaid deposits?? Please issue my credit since you have a 48 hour cancellation policy, or do you just say whatever sounds good to keep customers money?

Dear Evie Nicklas,
I sincerely apologize that you were unable to keep your reservation. We allow cancellations without penalty with a 48-hour notice, which is standard in the industry. I regret that this policy was not clearly communicated to you during the booking process, and l am truly sorry for any frustration it caused.
We value your feedback and take it seriously. Thank you for
choosing us, and we hope to have the opportunity to welcome you in the future.
Sincerely,
Peter Grills
General Manager
No problem. Just the response I expected. I will just edit this post every day to keep it at the top of your reviews. Like I said, if your two separate Staff members informed me that you would keep my full payment, I would have sent my Mother in law to stay. Also, I will be speaking to Cape Fear Land Rover to request that they host their event elsewhere next year. I am also going to suggest to Atlantic Marine that they should find an alternate location. I hope it was worth it for your Staff to blatantly lie to me.
Why would you send me a cancellation email if you were going to keep all of my money? If your Staff didn’t lie about issuing a credit, I would have sent a family member to stay. Horrible.

Be aware prior of booking the hotel. The location is not ideal, the rooms unless you are at the top floors have no view, the parking is remote, unless you want to pay $15 a day for parking.
The food at the restaurant on site is average, the customer service is average and the worst part of all is the rudeness of the front desk manager. The hotel placed a full amount hold on my debit card at arrival. Then on check out I was asked to pay with a different card the same amount, plus any other charges accumulated, I questioned the process since most hotels will add the changes and don’t ask for another card, I was told that the hold on my debit card will be released as soon as my bill was paid. Didn’t make any sense to me but I did have them a credit card to charge. Long story short the hold is still pending on my debit card and while speaking to the front desk manager of the hotel I was treated rudely, without any solution offered, with ignorance and arrogance. Definitely not appreciated as a client, poor customer service experience and management.

NOW this a great hotel. rooms beautiful the building beautiful food at the restaurant is good besides my one charred burger other than that its great. oh and it being 15 minutes away from the beach. what is upsetting is that i can go to a cheap crappy motel and swim all day and throughout the night. well as when i was here i leave my room at 1:12 in the morning planning on leaving at 11 wanted one last dip in the hot tub no signs saying the times of the pool or anything i get out there and BOOM my card does not work so hmmm i try it again and BOOM NOTHING again so i call "hey so im at the pool and my card isnt working so can i get the times or some help" she says "the pool?" I say "yes maam" she says "the pool is closed?" I then state "well could i get the times please" then she uses her ultimate rebutal "not 1:12 am in the morning" blood instantly boils i hang up go to thr bathroom and this is where im writing from (also there is a rolly polly in here) other than that great hotel and to whoever picked up the phone. For the minimum of the room being close to 140 and us getting two rooms u could have had a better attitude.
