- SOStephanie Orlando2 days ago5.0We enjoyed our time at Avon pier. It was great for the 4th of July since we were right at the pier where they have the fireworks. It’s great to have the beach and the pool all right there.
- VVVBJun 26, 20265.0Our 1st time camping at Avon Pier & RV resort. Our 8 day stay was relaxing —- From check-in to timely responses to my inquiries, great wi-fi service for TV streaming, clean secure bathhouse, access to nice private pool, variety of site sizes, big rig friendly, beachside, next door to the pier and many places to eat and shop nearby made our stay wonderful! Did I mention the wifi was the best I’ve experienced in my decades of camping 😊. Also enjoyed the band Thurston Howell who played from 8p-10p at the pool. Very nice crowd & was family friendly. Will always recommend the campground! It’s small but packs a punch. A returning camper.

The campground was clean and small which we loved and made it so accessible and walkable to go to the playground, restaurant on site, pool and the beach. Our kids enjoyed themselves. The food at the restaurant was delicious and we even explored a bit of the shops and an ice cream shop right down the road. There was also a food lion very close in case you needed anything. 10/10 looking forward to visiting again!

We extended our stay twice for a full 10 days and if we had the time, we would definitely stay longer. What I like a lot about the resort is that it’s small only 26 spots but they did not compromise on the share open space. I respect the resort management/owner to keep it that way and not overcrowding it. Definitely coming back even though it takes us 9 hours to get there!

I stayed in May, and was disappointed to see that the place had been under new ownership. I could feel it in the air. Everything was different. No friendly staff, dogs running off leash in the green space, and owners not scooping poop? It was everywhere.What happened to the strict pet policy? Now we have rebooked for July and received an email letting us know that there will be an outdoor band playing on the campground at night? What happened to 10 p.m. quiet time? I don't know about other families but we specifically chose this camp ground for it's quiet, serene, site. We may have to find another camp ground. I don't understand how this R.V. park will ever be the same. We're from North Carolina, and we loved this park because it was in our favorite town on Hatteras Island. It felt like home.

How do I make a reservation?
You can book your stay online using our reservation system or call us directly at 252-996-1188. Our team is happy to help you find the perfect site for your travel dates.
What is the cancellation policy?
Cancellations must be made at minimum fourteen (14) days prior to arrival for a full refund. Any cancellations made within seven (7) days of your scheduled arrival date will forfeit a 50% deposit amount. Please note platform and processing fees are non-refundable.
Modifications or cancellations can be made through your online reservation portal or by contacting our team. Please review our cancellation policy for details on timing and refund eligibility.
Customers will have the option to purchase their own additional trip insurance at the time of booking which will allow for a full refund for length of stay booked within 14 days of your arrival. A confirmation email will be sent twenty one (21) days prior to your reserved stay to ensure your options for cancelling. For instructions on how to cancel your reservation please visit.
*NOTE ON TRIP INSURANCE AND TRIP CANCELLATION: If you decide to forego purchasing trip insurance, either from the option offered at checkout or your own separate policy, then you have explicitly agreed to our cancellation policy. We WILL NOT provide you with a refund for your trip if you contact us asking for a refund outside of the terms of our cancellation policy. We are located on a beautiful barrier island off the coast of North Carolina, that is subject to changing weather patterns. We have no control over Mother Nature, so for this reason, we highly recommend trip insurance.
What about no-shows?
If you do not call or show up by 10:00 PM on the night of your scheduled arrival, your entire reservation is subject to cancellation and all payments will be forfeited.
Can we re-sell our reservation if we cannot make it?
Reservations cannot be resold and must be canceled and released within Campspot. Attempts to resell reservations will be flagged and cancelled by the Avon Pier & RV Resort and Campspot team. Names of guests arriving must match the name on the reservation, no exceptions.
Is there a minimum night stay?
Yes. During peak season (Memorial Day through Labor Day), we require a minimum stay of typically 3 nights. Off-season minimums may vary. Check the booking calendar for specific requirements.
What is your check-in policy?
Avon Pier & RV Resort is a self-check-in RV Resort. You may arrive and park your RV in your designated site after 2pm on your check-in day.
You will receive a pre check-in email with details about your stay and the Village Campus. Your check-in package will be in the mailbox on your site post. You will also receive a text message from our mobile number the day of your check-in.
What is your check-out policy?
Guests must check-out by noon. Check-out means your campground site must be vacated and free of all trash and belongings by no later than 12pm.
Late departures are subject to additional fees. We ask that you honor our check-out time promptly to minimize hardship on our staff and the next arriving guests.

Where can I find groceries or supplies?
A grocery store and gas station are located nearby in Avon. A local hardware store is also available within the village for basic supplies.
Where do I take out my trash?
Please place all garbage in designated dumpster located by bath house. Please keep your campsite and the beach clean by cleaning up litter.
What are the hours of the bath house facilities?
The bath house facilities are open to guests 24/7.
What are the pool hours?
10AM-6PM Daily unless posted otherwise.
Are there quiet hours?
Quiet hours in the RV Resort are from 11pm-8AM, please respect your neighbors.
Is smoking permitted?
Smoking is not allowed in the bath house. Do not throw your tobacco butts on the ground. Please be courteous of neighbors not desiring exposure to dangerous secondhand smoke.
Can I have a bonfire?
Bonfires are prohibited in Avon Pier & RV Resort, but you are welcome to have a bonfire on the nearby beach. Make sure to keep the fire within the high tide line and get an NPS permit. Permits come free with bundles of wood at Avon Pier.
Are pets allowed?
Pets are welcome at Avon Pier & RV Resort for a fee of $3 per night per animal. Pets must be on leash at all times
Do not leave pets unattended. No excessive barking allowed.
Pets must be walked by a responsible person to pick up after them immediately. Pets are not allowed in any buildings, bathrooms, nor at the pool.
Pets are allowed in Pangea’s Beer Garden with prior reservations and can enjoy Kavon Park with responsible owner.
Maximum of 4 Pets allowed. Managers have the right to ask the guests to leave, without refund, for not obeying the posted Pet Policy.
No farm animals in the campground
Are golf carts allowed?
We do allow golf carts at Avon Pier & RV Resort and on the Village Campus. However, NC State law requires golf carts to be street legal and have a license plate in order to drive on Highway 12.
What kind of grills are allowed?
We allow gas and electric grills. Charcoal grills are prohibited.
Can I bring outside food and drink to the pool?
Yes, we allow outside food and drink during the daytime pool use, no glass please.
Are flags allowed?
The American Flag, State Flags, current U.S. Military flags, and Sport Teams flags are the only flags allowed to fly. No other flags are permitted.
Are fireworks or firearms permitted?
Both are prohibited on resort property, including Airsoft and pellet guns. Federal Law prohibits firework use or display in the Cape Hatteras National Seashore.
