  I just booked what will be my fourth stay at this hotel. My daughter lives in Woodfin and I drive over every few months to see her and pursue Asheville. I always get the king suite and have never been disappointed in my stays here. The staff is always so friendly and when I opt to stay an extra night or two they are happy to do that for me and always make sure that I have everything I need. My daughter lives a mile away and she comes over to stay with me. (her place is small) and she loves their breakfast and has lots of choices with it. This is my go to place and makes my stay in Asheville so much easier and convenient.

  I heard every person walking through the hallways, dogs, and conversations in the surrounding rooms. Maintenance tried to open my door without knocking, while I was changing, thank goodness I had the emergency lock on. Pool was COLD. The breakfast staff were helpful and kind and that was the only redeeming quality. Upon checking in I gave a card for incidentals and was told that it would be refunded upon check out. I checked out with the same person I checked in with, the assistant GM. They told me there were no additional charges. I left. I get 15 minutes down the road and get an email saying I am being charged $50. I immediately call the hotel and the assistant GM says it is a pet fee. I told him it was not explained to me at check in, or check out that there was an additional fee. He had no excuse and said they would refund. They did not. I call back two days later and he said he lost my info and could not issue the refund, but now that he had it they would. We hang up I get a new email from my credit card company. Instead of refunding the $50, I got CHARGED an additional $100.00. At this point, I ask to speak with the GM and am told that they will call me before the end of the day. They did not get in touch with me. The next day I call again and the GM promises that the refund of now $150.00 has been issued. I ask for proof via email that they have processed the refund and am told that one will be sent. NO EMAIL. NO REFUND. NO APOLOGY! I am now out $150 and several hours of my life. Revised: refund received after 8 calls to site, 1 chat with corporate bot, and 2 calls to corporate.

  I chose to stay at holiday inn and ihg hotels because they usually have clean rooms and are honest and transparent about the facilities. That was not the case with holiday inn woodfin in Asheville nc. Before I booked this room for Mother’s Day and my wife birthday I spoke with Steve and he assured that the pool facilities were open and heated also the room did not meet the standards of other ihg and holiday inn hotels that I have stayed at in the past there was pet hair on the furniture in my room the was supposed to be a pet free room also I requested a feather free bedding (allergies)this also didn’t happen my friend removed the feathered pillows and we left it at that until morning because house keeping had already left for the day and hotel staff was unwilling to swap out pillows for foam ones. Upon check out Steve responded with snide remarks. And over charged me $110.00 upon checking out. Get it together holiday inn woodfin nc this is unacceptable.
