- WBWilliam BolducSep 18, 20263.0Highlights: The hotel is in a convenient location on a beautifully maintained plot of land in Apex surrounded by trees. The staff is very friendly and helpful. Lowlights: Water: The water pressure in the bathroom sink was dreadfully low and it took about 5 minutes for warm water to flow. I never did get hot water to flow in the sink. AC: While the AC was operational and effective, the room smelled slightly dank, as if the AC filters had not been changed in a while. The room also felt a bit humid. Not awful, but slightly uncomfortable. Window Shades: The window looked out into a beautiful stand of trees! However, the power window controls mounted on the wall were not intuitive whatsoever. (I'm very comfortable with technologies and can usually figure things like this out rather quickly.) After trying to open the blinds for several minutes, I called the front desk* and a staff member came up and showed me how to operate the controls. *Phone: Upon trying to call the front desk about the blinds, I realized that the phone did not work at all. It was dead. I checked the connection - it was connected. The staff member told me that the phones were old. That's it. Again, this wasn't a deal-breaker but it was inconvenient and in the case of any emergency it could have been a problem.
