  We were from out of town as my family member had to be medevac'd to Barnes Jewish hospital. This was our 2nd place in four days d/t availability in the area. We were exhausted and stressed d/t traveling and having a family member in critical condition at the hospital. With all that was going on in our world, we were met at this establishment with less than desired customer service from the moment we checked in. We were not shown what hallway we should take to easily access the elevator to our assigned room. When we went back down to the front desk to ask questions on room location (while pushing our full luggage rack), we were met with smirks and the feeling like we were being a 'bother.' On a positive note, the room was quiet, comfortable, and the shower remodel was amazing!! Guest parking for $15/night was very reasonable seeing as another hotel in the area was charging upwards to $40/night.

  Perhaps it was the GPS routing us through a rough part of town to reach the hotel, or the parking situation with barely enough room to fit a vehicle. Maybe it was being assigned a room directly next to the bar — which, to be fair, was certainly lively. Either way, I walked into my room and immediately wanted to walk back out. Maybe St. Louis just isn’t for me, but for a business traveler, this experience simply isn’t worth saving the company a few dollars. I was hoping for something unique, and I definitely got more than I bargained for — just not in a good way. “Unique” isn’t always a compliment. The 3-star reviews feel completely justified, and honestly, a 2-star rating would be understandable as well. The reception was lukewarm at best, almost as if they expected guests to leave disappointed — and after the experience, I can’t really blame them.

  Very comfortable and luxurious accommodations at a reasonable price! Thank you for the hospitality making this country girl not feel like such a fish out of water!

  I was charged $11 extra per night for a "Green Energy Fee" that was not communicated to me at check-in or check-out. I asked the front desk to email me a bill and they did not. I saw an unexpected charge and after asking corporate for a copy of my bill, saw the $11/night "Green Energy Fee." Called the front desk and they told me many different things: that it is a fee for booking third party, that it is a fee for "our HVAC system" and "to use our heating and cooling," and that "it's just part of the bundle that all guests pay." I have never heard of a hotel charging $11/night to use heating and cooling in a hotel room. This charge is ridiculous and just a way for the hotel to scrape some extra money from guests and then try to hide that they've charged it. This is bait and switch pricing (the FTC prohibits it!) and I would not recommend staying here.

  I haven't been here since the hotel was a Holiday Inn Express about 5 years ago. What a positive turnaround since remodeling to a Hotel Indigo. It feels bougie and fits right into the CWE neighborhood. The staff is great and friendly especially Tay. The king bed is nice and comfortable, the room tastefully remodeled, the rain shower relaxing. At Bel Air Social the coffee and crepes are wonderful. The courtyard is cozy and welcoming. I'm having a great trip so far for the National Garden Club conference. It is a great trip back to my hometown. I will definitely suggest to come back to this hotel within the next year when my husband graduates with his PhD.
