Beautiful place nestled in the Fourche Renault hills ... my friends had a room in the lodge with a walk out patio right on the lake... 3 meals a day included in room price! There are many activities.... you can take a sunset cruise after dinner or enjoy the myriad of outdoor activities and equipment provided by the lodge at little or no charge ... KIDS RULE AT THIS PLACE! Great place to experience many new things.

Stayed with a big group and did lots of group activities all together, and the staff were great with us and very patient when 30 people showed up to archery and axe throwing! Some of us thought the beds weren't very comfortable and the cabins were a bit dated but that's exactly what I was expecting from a place like this for a more rustic experience. I didn't mind! I also have had some pretty bad food at places like this and I have to say, the cafeteria food was really good and had tons of options. I'm vegetarian and was expecting to only eat sides but there were so many vegetarian/vegan/GF options! There was also just so much to do and I felt like we barely scratched the surface! Looking forward to coming back next year!

I rarely leave reviews, but I feel obligated to share this experience.
I booked this trip for my birthday and traveled as a Black woman with my children. From the moment we arrived, things were off. Our cabin was not properly cleaned. There was a ring of dirt around the tub, dried coffee on the cabinets, dried milk on the table, food residue in the microwave, dirty dishes in the cabinets, and even dirty knives placed back in the knife block. Within minutes, our feet were dirty from walking on the floors.
I want to recognize Eli, Taylor, and Amira, who were kind and professional throughout our stay.
Unfortunately, the housekeeping manager was not. When I reported the condition of the cabin, her first response was to ask if I had pictures, as though what I was saying wasn’t believable. Eli had already seen the room and could confirm the issues. Instead of apologizing, she explained that things get dusty and then seemed more concerned with rushing me to fit into her cleaning schedule than addressing the inconvenience my family had already experienced.
As the day went on, the atmosphere became increasingly uncomfortable. Staff interactions felt cold, dismissive, and unwelcoming. My friend and I noticed staff pointing at and commenting on our children while other children were doing the exact same things. At the buffet, I repeatedly tried to get the attention of a staff member I believe was named Alonzo and was ignored until I addressed him by name.
As a Black traveler, I did not feel welcomed, included, or comfortable. What should have been a relaxing birthday getaway turned into an experience where I felt guarded and out of place.
Management did refund our stay, which I appreciate, but we still chose to leave early.
I would not recommend this location to Black families or Black solo travelers. This property has a lot of work to do when it comes to hospitality, inclusion, and making all guests feel welcome.

Please avoid arriving before 5:00 PM. I arrived at 11:00 AM, completed the check-in process at the front desk, received my keycards, and proceeded to my cabin. The cabins feature a dual-sided design, which offers less privacy than advertised. My Lakeview Cabin provided a limited view of the lake. Upon attempting to access my cabin, my keycards were inoperative, and I subsequently realized that payment had not been processed during check-in. I returned to the front desk, settled the payment, and inquired about the non-functional keycards. I was informed that under normal circumstances, I would have been able to enter my cabin, but due to a system malfunction, access was currently unavailable. Consequently, I am now required to wait in my vehicle with the air conditioning running for six hours until check-in is possible.
Update: Thankfully I was able to eat lunch in the main lodge, and was able to get into my cabin after just over 2 hours. Curtiss at the front desk was supposed to call me to let me know that my keycards worked, but he never bothered to call. Now the cabin itself has thin walls. I can hear everything the people on the other side are doing. I hear kids yelling. Mom yelling at them to be quiet. The children have decided to slam doors, and toilet seats. They also keep messing with the locks on the doors separating the two sides of the cabin. I definitely won't be returning here. Now I smell weed coming from the other half of the cabin.
