  This review is specifically for the Cafe l stayed at the Holiday Inn Express (IHG) (9/1-9/2) right up the street. My stay would have been 5 stars with the exception of my departure. I checked out around 10:30am and asked the desk attendant for directions to the nearest Starbucks since I wanted a Matcha. She told me to make a left and it’s at the very end of the block -perfect. I get to the end of the block and there’s no Starbucks in sight but there is another coffeeshop at the corner. I walk further thinking maybe it’s on the next block-nothing. I then backtracked and went a block in the opposite direction to make sure I didn’t mishear her or she mistakenly gave the wrong direction. Still no Starbucks there. After walking for almost 20 minutes, I go to the coffee shop on the corner (Aiden) and ask them where the closest Starbucks is located; the lady working the cafe tells me “this is it”. And I’m so confused. She then proceeds to tell me ‘there’s not a single Starbucks downtown’, how great their coffee is and how much I’d love it. At this point I’m hot and exhausted from carrying around a 30+lb suitcase so I say sure why not. I asked her if they served Matcha - which of course they didn’t. Then she insists again that their coffee is great but I don’t want coffee. So I settled for Chai instead (which was good I’ll give her that). However I don’t appreciate being intentionally misinformed or deceived into doing business at any establishment no matter how good your coffee is. It is not appropriate to intentionally confuse or deceive people in any way, shape, or form to make a sale.

  This is on a corner, so due to that and construction under way, getting into the parking lot was not obvious, but it is right there. Place has a new or under remodeling feel. Squeaky clean. Staff is friendly and efficient. Room was a little odd. We had two queen beds and one was so close to the wall/window, that you could not walk between. Room lacked a coffee pot. It did have a huge long desk, so would be great for someone there for work. Neighborhood feels very safe and is walking distance to food and drink and groceries. Also walking distance to the street car, which runs from the river, and City Market, down past the National WWI Memorial and Museum.

  Stayed at the Aiden over the weekend. Pros: Friendly service, great central location, good parking (underground parking in downtown for $30 a night) Cons: Very few amenities, including no microwave or coffee pot in room. Room was quite compact. Walls were paper thin- you could hear full conversations in the room over. Toilet also had some strange issues with turning orange at some point? It's a new hotel, so they're still working out the quirks, but wouldn't recommend staying with kids (the walls are. really. thin) Would recommend if you need to be downtown, if you're attending an event at the arena, or just prefer being closer to things. Also, really, a microwave would be nice.

  Due to some discrepancies with our previous hotel, we had to find somewhere else to stay last minute that could also accommodate an early check-in. We had never heard of this branch of Best Western before, so we decided to take the risk after the employee we spoke with on the phone was super friendly and helpful—and I’m SO glad we did! When we arrived, Imani was at the front desk and was actually the same person we had spoken with over the phone. She was extremely pleasant, welcoming, and helpful from the second we walked in. She was able to get us checked into our room early and also helped us figure out the parking situation. The parking lot is $30/night and has a gated entry, which was nice for the added security. The ambiance of this hotel is GREAT! It is super aesthetic, modern, and clean. Imani mentioned that they’ve only been open for about a month or so, and you can definitely tell everything is fresh and well maintained. The bar manager (I believe that was his position) was equally as friendly and helpful, which really added to the overall experience. For having to find a hotel so last minute, this ended up being such a pleasant surprise. The customer service alone made a huge difference, especially after the issues we had experienced beforehand. I would 110% stay here again and definitely recommend it!
