We checked into this hotel in St. Louis yesterday, only to be told today — with less than 30 minutes notice — that we had to leave our room because the hotel overbooked. Their solution was to force us into a different room that does not have the jacuzzi tub I specifically requested for medical recovery. The issue is not just the missing jacuzzi tub. It’s the complete lack of professionalism, compassion, and accessibility awareness from the staff. I am disabled, walk with a cane, and sometimes require a walker or wheelchair. I have to carefully manage my energy and physical limitations every day. Being abruptly told to pack up and relocate because of THEIR mistake was unacceptable. To make matters worse, the room itself was already in terrible condition. The bedding was visibly soiled (not stained—soiled, with debris) upon check-in and had to be replaced immediately. There was also a strong and unpleasant odor throughout the hotel and especially our guest room, which smelled of a retirement home. They told us there was no housekeeping staff available this weekend. How is that possible? There was black mold throughout the bathroom, and the jacuzzi tub looked decades old and unsanitary. The entire hotel feels run down and poorly maintained. What stood out most was how rude and dismissive the front desk staff were about the situation. There was no accountability, no empathy, and no effort to accommodate a disabled guest dealing with the consequences of the hotel’s own overbooking error. This hotel is not disability friendly, and honestly not guest friendly at all. The front-desk staff was rude to us at every encounter. I would strongly recommend staying elsewhere. This place is a Monet painting—looks nice from far away, but the closer you look—the worse it gets.

Breakfast is good. I ordered some medicine for a pain flare via Uber at 1am and asked the courier to drop it at my door, Instead I get the front desk calling my room at 1am with my 4 kids sleeping saying "uh did you order something? It's at the desk" They wouldn't let the person up to my room, thats fine I understand for safety, but the front desk lady was sitting there at the desk on her phone doing nothing! And some other staff member lounging in a chair. Someone could have brought it to my door. I'm literally in so much pain and had to leave my kids to walk down and get it. When we checked in I asked a staff member walking out of the back if he could grab me some toothbrushes and he goes to the back and comes out and says you will have to wait in line and ask the lady at the desk. Toothbrushes arent at the front desk. They were in the back. Someone else eventually brought them from the back. Poor service for Clayton. Won't be back.

Despite confirming our booking was for 3 nights upon check-in, the hotel thought we were only staying one day and removed all our stuff from our room while we were out. We came back to an empty room and the front desk telling that we were being evicted from our room thinking we overstayed. They eventually realized their mistake and "upgraded" us to a new room that wasn't any better. We lost a couple small items too in the mixup. The free breakfast was good though.

Hotel was fine, location was great,. I'd say service was abysmal, but it wasn't that it was bad, rather the front desk had no interest in serving their customers. We arrived at 1:30PM and were told there no rooms available. When I asked for options I was told the Le Meridien was around the block and they would be glad to cancel my reservation. By 3PM we'd seen multiple people get rooms and asked how they got rooms and the response was they had King size rooms available and ours was a Double/Double and none of those were available. When I asked why we weren't given that option 90 minutes ago rather than suggesting Le Meridien all I got was a shoulder shrug. Room was fine, nothing special. But don't expect any type of customer service.

Very nice hotel. Very clean and friendly staff. My husband is picky when it comes to complimentary breakfast but he really liked their breakfast. They had an omelette and waffle station with a great selection on their buffet. We would definitely stay here again because of price, free breakfast and location.
