Read some other reviews. You know there are many sites and this site had the lowest ratings. We did not experience any real issues. We are looking forward staying again in the future. Breakfast was awesome! Rooms were not huge, but not bad small either. Loved the staff most of all. Just great friendly people. Nothing fake about the way they treated our family.
Location is awesome if your business is in that area. First time parking there was initially a challenge, but worked out very good.

I was very disappointed with my stay at the Clayton Plaza Hotel, mainly because of the customer service.
At check-in, I wasn’t greeted, and the front desk employee seemed uninterested in helping. I was told parking was free, but I was charged every time I exited the garage. When I called, I was told my parking ticket had to be validated for parking to be free, which was never explained to me at check-in. Instead, I was told there were signs, but the information I was given did not match the actual process, and I was told the garage would not issue a refund.
I also called to ask about the late check-out fee if I couldn’t leave exactly at 11:00 a.m. The employee simply stated the fee and immediately hung up without offering any further assistance.
The lobby felt outdated, and the property seemed dusty. During the night, both my boyfriend and I developed stuffy noses.
I’ve stayed here before, and this hotel is not what it used to be. In my opinion, it has gone downhill, especially in customer service. The only highlight of our stay was the complimentary breakfast.
Overall, I expected a much more welcoming and professional experience and would not stay here again.
Let me start by saying the hotel looks amazing online, After check in, we asked for extra washcloths and towels for the morning after our stay. There were 3 of us 2 queen bed, after showing that evening I would have a scheduled surgery the next morning at 6am. After showers that evening there wouldn't be enough for the a.m We would be up at 4am and didn't want to bother or call room service at 4am before surgery to get more. We were advised we couldn't get extra "stuff" until the next day. What? 3 extra towel and washcloths? Okay. We decided to take granddaughter to the arcade and heated pool and get supper at the in house restaurant and lounge. The game room was closed for construction the "heated pool was about 55 degrees and couldn't swim. So decided to have supper. The in house lounge and bar was closed completely, so no food. Mind you nothing on there website stated any of this ,and no discount rooms. Mind u it was $225 for less than 12 hrs in the hotel with zero amenities. I awoke a 4am morning of surgery. Drove my vehicle around to the 15min parking area to begin loading for the hospital. While parking a woman drove in rapidly behind me. Taking a spot two places down. And proceeded to give me dirty looks while entering. Didn't think much of it. When I walked back inside to get a rolling cart to get things from the room I was immediately met by the same women, rudely asking me why I was in her lobby and if I was a client of the establishment? In the mood I was already in, I said no ma'am I always go to hotels I dont know at 4am and hang out in the lobby and push carts around? She said we'll u messed up my morning by parking in my spot? I said you mean the spot out front that says 15 min parking for loading and unloading? She said yes I park there! I said how is it you park there for only 15 min daily? And she said Mind your own business? Mind u if I didn't have an appointment. After this my vehicle would have sat there all day! This place is completely unprofessional, rude, and disrespectful, I would advise them to number 1 find better help 2 give the services you offer or charge according 3 respect your clients unless they have disrespected u. Which no one at this counter did. I would not recommend this place to anyone ever. Im pretty easy and friendly to those who treat me the same respect I treat them. And trust me you wont get that here. Best of luck Mark Ramsey
Clayton Plaza Hotel exceeded our expectations and was an excellent place to stay. The hotel has a classy, upscale feel from the moment you walk in, and everything was clean and well maintained. The complimentary breakfast buffet was a fantastic bonus with plenty of options to start the day.
The covered parking was a lifesaver, especially during our stay, and made coming and going incredibly convenient. Our room was spotless, modern, and surprisingly high-tech, making it feel much more premium than expected.
What really stood out, though, was the front desk staff. Every employee we interacted with was genuinely friendly, welcoming, and eager to help with anything we needed. Great service, comfortable rooms, and excellent amenities made this an easy 5-star stay. We’d absolutely choose Clayton Plaza Hotel again.
We don't even know how this hotel got the rating that it did. The room we got put in was small and cramped. The walls were thin and the carpet floor was dirty. To get to the pool, you have to go to the bottom floor and walk down a slippery and wet ramp. One woman slipped and hurted her knee. I don't even know why they would make a walking ramp to the pool knowing it will always be wet. The pool was also not clean. There were leaves and other stuff along the side. Breakfast was ok, but you can tell the servers have had better days. We had to spend most of the time elsewhere because we did not want to be in the hotel room. We were so happy to leave once our two nights was over.
