- DHDan HegstedJun 26, 20265.0Hawn’s Mill is not easily reached if there has been any rain. A storm from 3 days prior left large puddles in the road. However we went with a bus which made it with ease thanks to our wonderful bus driver Lynette. Our guide told the story of Barnes Smith who arriving the night before and subsequently lost a husband and son (10) and had her six year old have his hip blown away but miraculously he lived to walk again.
- NCNicole CallJun 24, 20265.0Off the beaten path, gravel road for several miles to get there. There's a small marker in memory of the tragic event. It's along a small river, beautiful and peaceful. Perfect for a picnic and hammocks.

- BGBeki GrahamMay 29, 20265.0A peaceful meadow surrounded by woods on 3 sides and a creek. There is a reverent, sacred feeling. I would say it's beautiful but there was a massacre of innocent, peace-loving people here. Lots of mosquitoes... bring repellent. Very well marked and maintained.
