- SAStacey AilshieJul 25, 20264.0Such a quiet peaceful place where such a horrific massacre happened. It's been turned in to a calming place to remember those who suffered there. My grandfather, Austin Hammer, and my uncle, John York, were killed there. No restrooms or water available. It is a fairly long dirt road too get there.

- DHDan HegstedJun 26, 20265.0Hawn’s Mill is not easily reached if there has been any rain. A storm from 3 days prior left large puddles in the road. However we went with a bus which made it with ease thanks to our wonderful bus driver Lynette. Our guide told the story of Barnes Smith who arriving the night before and subsequently lost a husband and son (10) and had her six year old have his hip blown away but miraculously he lived to walk again.
