  We frequent Wilmar for the races and have stayed at a few other hotels. The other hotels don't compare to this one. It's a little outdated and there are some cosmetic things that could be fixed to make it look nicer but the rooms are big, the beds are comfy and for the most part the staff is very, very friendly. The front desk clerk on the overnight shift needed a little bit more training on customer service. She wouldn't open the door and let us in. After 10 mins of standing out there I had to call the phone for her to let us in All of the other staff was great including the housekeepers. Very easy to communicate with them via text and even if you have requests of extra things. We will definitely be back there again to stay.

  Really happy with my visit to Holiday Inn Express & Suites Willmar by IHG. Quiet, cozy, and exactly what I needed for the trip. Great location, friendly staff, and a restful stay. I'll be recommending this spot to everyone I know.

  Really happy with my visit to Holiday Inn Express & Suites Willmar by IHG. The room was clean and comfortable, and check-in was a breeze. Definitely worth a visit if you're in Willmar.

  Booking this room through Hotels.com proved inconvenient, a lack of service from the Holiday Day Inn staff and not just a lack of care and service from the Hotels.com representative on the phone but indecisive, confused information which for a service that's supposed to create some sort of confidence in the fact that they are "saving you money and you get to enjoy a piece of mind knowing theirs is a knowledgeable and respected group who handles hundreds of bookings a day and can help you resolve most any issues you might encounter with your stay at any properties they claim to work with". Unfortunately,no. The hotel receptionist who I spoke with the night before to verify my reservation apparently somehow hid it in the computer system so it was almost impossible for the counter staff girl to find, even with my itinerary number and information that the room had been paid for the girl behind the counter literally put her hands up and told me she wasn't able to do anything and I needed to get ahold of Hotel.com, to which I connected with a representative who attended to charge my Visa an additional $210.00 then after I informed him that the number I had already paid in addition to adding $210.00 I could have stayed home and wallpapered my bathroom in $20s, then in a confused stumble through the english language was telling me he was going to now pay me back over a $100.00, all the while I watched my girlfriend attempt to regain the focus of the Holiday Day Inn counter girl to simply find out how much the room was without the confused "help" bubbling out of my phone and once a number was found by the young girl and I can only guess was completely made up I cancelled the booking made with Hotels.com only to find out the even with cancelation protection I was going to be shorted $35 credited back to my Visa. The only win I was able to take away was by avoiding Hotels.com I saved $70 by just paying Holiday Day Inn outright, after 40 minutes it only cost me $35 and being an hour late to pick up the friend we were there to visit in the first place. My lesson learned, always call your destination lodging and find out what your stay will cost then check prices at one of the ridiculously undertrained money grabbing apps..... Then call the lodging to verify what they told you the cost was the first time and hopefully avoid Booking, Expedia, Hotels, Trivago, Priceline..... Wherever, they don't care about your trip or convenience they want every cent they can figure out how to get without doing you any service of value. And as far as Holiday Day Inn is concerned, I'll do whatever it takes to avoid your hotels and make it a point to blend in with the breakfast crowd because an automatic push button pancake machine...... Your unworthy!
